    • Abstract of DisclosureThe present invention provides an apparatus and method for evaluating the integrity of a seal on liquid-filled container. According to one aspect of the invention, the apparatus comprises a tank for containing a liquid solution and a clamp with a first and second member between which the container is engaged. The clamp is positioned with respect to the tank such that a portion of the container properly situated in the clamp will extend into the tank and contact the liquid solution. A ram and cylinder are operatively connected to the clamp to engage the container. A seat is provided to support a portion of the container such that at least a portion of the container supported by the seat will extend into the tank. A drill is provided to pierce a surface of the container to make an opening. The drill is positioned such that the opening can be made while the container is in the clamp and/or the seat such that at least a portion of the container extends into the tank. The apparatus further includes a conductivity meter mounted on the platform, a first electrode attached to the drill, and a second electrode positioned such that at least a portion of the second electrode extends into the tank. According to another aspect of the invention, the tank, the clamp, the seat, and the ram and cylinder are mounted on a mobile platform. The present invention further relates to a method for evaluating a seal on a liquid-filled container.

    • An extrusion apparatus for producing thee-dimensional objects comprises at least one die, an extruder, and a rotatable cutter plate. The die is disposed adjacent to an outlet end of the extruder. The die forms an opening defining a two-dimensional shape, and the extruder forces an extrudable material through the opening in the die. The rotatable cutter plate is disposed adjacent to the die. The cutter plate is configured to obstruct different portions of the die opening at different times as the cutter plate rotates so as to vary the shape of the extrudable material forced through the opening in the die and thereby create a three-dimensional shape. The cutter plate is configured to fully obstruct the opening in the die during each revolution of the cutter plate so as to separate the extrudable material forced through the opening in the die into individual objects.

    • The present invention relates to a dry mixture which provides a color-stable liquid composition when combined with free chlorine-containing water, said dry mixture comprising: (a) from about 0.005% to about 0.035% by weight chlorine reactive agent; (b) from about 0.5% to about 5.0% by weight electrolyte; (c) coloring agent, wherein the dry mixture comprises sufficient coloring agent to provide for a concentration of coloring agent in the range of from about 5 ppm to about 200 ppm in a color-stable liquid composition prepared from said dry mixture; and (d) a balance of carbohydrate. The present invention also relates to a method of preparing a color-stable liquid composition, said method comprising: (a) preparing a dry mixture comprising: (1) from about 0.005% to about 0.035% by weight chlorine reactive agent; (2) from about 0.5% to about 5.0% by weight electrolyte; (3) coloring agent, wherein the dry mixture comprises sufficient coloring agent to provide for a concentration of coloring agent in the range of from about 5 ppm to about 200 ppm in the color-stable liquid composition; and (4) a balance of carbohydrate; and (b) combining said dry mixture with free chlorine-containing water, thereby producing a color-stable liquid composition; wherein the weight ratio of water combined with dry mixture is in the range of from about 10.5:1 to about 22:1 (water:dry mixture), wherein the molar ratio of chlorine reactive agent contained in the dry mixture to free chlorine contained in the water is at least about 2.2:1 (chlorine reactive agent:free chlorine), and wherein the color-stable liquid composition comprises from about 5 ppm to about 200 ppm coloring agent.
