    • An indicator for the rate of volumetric fluid flow includes a housing having a fluid passageway therein and a rotor contained in the housing in a position so as to be rotated by fluid flowing through said passageway. The indicator also includes a Hall effect transducer positioned outside the housing, responsive to the rotation of the rotor. The transducer produces an output signal corresponding to the rate of rotation of the rotor, and thus to the rate of fluid flow through the housing passageway. Preferably, the rotor is a paddle wheel disposed on an axle in the housing. The axle and thus the paddle wheel are retained in the housing by entrapment against a removable housing cover. The housing is otherwise mechanically imperforate to any connection between the rotor and the transducer. The indicator can preferably include a plurality of rotors having different hydraulic characteristics, that is, which rotate at different speeds for a given rate of fluid flow, such that replacement of one rotor for another changes the range of fluid flow rates over which the indicator is responsive.

    • In a flow meter, a cylindrical member containing therein a vane wheel is fitted in a measuring chamber of a casing so as to be closely in contact with the peripheral wall of the casing, and a cover is put on the cylindrical member. Rectangular inlet and outlet nozzles in a side wall portion of the cylindrical member communicate with inlet and outlet ports of the casing, respectively. A pivot supporting the vane wheel is replaceably attached to a bottom portion of the cylindrical member. A supporting shaft of the vane wheel extends upward through a center opening in the cover to be connected to a measuring mechanism.

    • A rotary fluid flowmeter device comprising a casing enclosing a chamber bounded partly by a fluid-tight but magnetically permeable partition, said chamber having an inlet and an outlet for the fluid of which the flow is to be metered, and a rotor having radially-directed, axially-extending blades being borne for rotation within the chamber, wherein in operation fluid entering the chamber through the inlet is directed towards and impinges upon the rotor blades to cause rotation of the rotor, and wherein the casing houses an electronic sensing circuit on the far side of the partition from said chamber, the circuit being adapted to produce an electronic pulse train the rate of which represents the rate of rotation of the rotor.
