摘要： A bathing vessel has a bottom, and a drain disposed in the bottom adjacent a blended area that is disposed between the side wall and the bottom. The side wall, the bottom wall, and the blended area are made of a first layer of rigid polyurethane material and a second layer of capping material attached to said first layer. A ratio of a density of the polyurethane backing adjacent the drain to a thickness of polyurethane backing is between 1-80:1. The side wall, the blended area and the bottom wall flex to absorb loads adjacent the drain.

摘要： A walk-in bathtub is disclosed, which may include a bathtub frame and a sliding door. The bathtub frame has a door receiving space to receive the sliding door and the sliding door may include a plurality of door seals that can be attached to the outer wall of the door receiving space to secure the sliding door. The door also includes a door lock, so when the door is appropriately positioned in the door receiving space, the door lock is used to further secure the door in a fixed position. The bathtub may include a pair of bottom sliding rails and the sliding door can travel thereon, and one end of each bottom sliding rail is curved to a predetermined extent to cause the sliding door to slightly tilt before entering the receiving space.

摘要： A tub and shower surround assembly is initially molded as a single molded component having a waste strip which separates each individual tub and shower surround portion. The waste strip readily protects the mold and simplifies post molding operations and assures that each portion will meet final tolerances. Another waste strip is located between the tub portion and the wall portions to provide for positive draft between a tub flange which extends about the tub portion and the wall portions. Positive draft is required to assure proper removal of the mold component from the mold. The single component provides for finishing operations to be performed prior to separating the individual components. Since the majority of finishing operations are performed simultaneously prior to separating the portions, the likelihood of damage to the portions are reduced and the finish of the individual portions are of greater consistency.

摘要： A protective wall paneling kit for recesses, for example, that surround a bath tub or shower stall, is disclosed. The kit, and its several components are primarily of extruded plastic. Extruded sheet panels are provided having a relatively thick structural base member, such as acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene tripolymer, co-extruded with a thin layer of a protective plastic such as an acrylic having enhanced impact properties. Adjacent panels are joined and outward facing edges are sealed by further extruded joining and sealing strips, of a plastic such as polyvinyl chloride. The strips are of a single profile shape and are adaptable for either use. The panels and strips may be provided with sizing grooves during extrusion to allow convenient size adjustment. The joining and sealing strips may also be of a dual durometer polyvinyl chloride to permit hinging or tear stripe adjustment. The adjustment features allow the kit to be provided in a wide range of standard embodiments made from limited modular sizes. Alternatively, the various kit elements may be separately provided for other various applications.
