摘要： A bale shredder apparatus may comprise a frame and a bale hopper mounted on the frame and defining an interior bale chamber for receiving a bale to be shredded with a bale feed opening. A bale shredding assembly may be in communication with the bale chamber through the opening to shred a bale in the bale chamber. A side wall of the hopper may be movable away from the primary side wall to permit removal of a bale from the bale chamber. A primary bale movement assembly may move a bale in a lateral direction toward the opening and a secondary bale movement assembly may move the bale in a direction substantially transverse to the lateral direction. A shredding rotor of the shredding assembly may include at least one brace including at least one leg extending outwardly from the outer surface of the rotor.

摘要： A mobile, self-propelled chaff-production means in which windrowed hay is picked up and conveyed to a chaff-cutter via a covered conveyor. As the hay moves along the conveyor it is moistened by steam applied to it through jets located beneath the input region of the conveyor so that when the hay reaches the chaff-cutter it is moist enough not to be fractured on impact of the blades and cutter bar. The resulting chaff is then conveyed by an auger to a twin-column screw bagger as a final, saleable product.

摘要： Cutting rotor for a forage harvester in the form of a plurality of blades mounted between two end plates each blade having a nick or groove in at least one surface so that on impact with a hard object the blade will break at the nick and thus reduce damage to the rotor. The blades have aerofoil sections at their inner edges and the end plates are scalloped between the blades to give improved air flow. The blades operate against a stationary ledger plate which is adjustable and is also movable under abnormal shock conditions and the casing for the rotor is of variable thickness so that if a hard object is drawn into the machine, damage is confined to those parts of the casing which are most easily replaced.

Each knife is pivotable between a retracted position in which it is located below the guiding surface and an extended position. At least a cutting edge of the knife projects above the surface. A selector mechanism selectively holds spring loaded parts of operating members to maintain the corresponding knife in its retracted inoperative position while the operating member is moved to its second position. The selector mechanism includes a shaft carrying a plurality of cam elements which are mounted on the shaft and arranged to be moved to a position for blocking a respective spring loaded part upon rotation of the shaft from a non-holding to a holding position.

The apparatus further includes a first actuation device that activates the hooking mechanism to capture the wrap and layer of forage, and one or more second actuation devices that rotate the elongate blade downward through the forage to split the bale.
