    • Various exemplary embodiments relate to a method performed by a policy and charging rules node (PCRN), the method including: receiving a credit control request (CCR) message from a packet data network gateway (PGW) based upon a general radio packet service (GPRS) internet protocol connectivity access network (IP-CAN) session request; determining that an operator policy rule specifies an aggregate maximum bit rate (APN-AMBR) value; determining that the CCR message includes an APN-AMBR value; setting an APN-AMBR value for the GPRS IP-CAN session to the APN-AMBR value specified by the operator policy rule; setting a GPRS IP-CAN session maximum bit rate download/upload (MBR DL/UL) value to the lowest of the APN-AMBR value specified by the operator policy rule and a subscriber MBR DL/UL value; and sending a credit control answer (CCA) message to the PGW with the selected APN-AMBR and MBR DL/UL values.

    • A carrier frequency system is provided with a transmission band of up to approximately 200 MHz with a small number of partial bands of identical magnitude and kind. These partial bands are translated and cut connected through and vice versa in their entirety into a frequency spectrum within the transmission band of a 60 MHz carrier frequency system of quinary group construction. The partial bands which are cut connected through into the other system are suitable for working with the translators of the other system in the same way as with its own partial bands. The filters required for the system are simple and uncomplicated.

    • Multiple adjacent frequency channels employ single sideband AM transmission with re-inserted carrier to afford optimized shared utilization of a common telephone transmission line while adhering to a station carrier frequency standard in which the carriers transmitted from subscribers to the central office reside in a different frequency band than carriers transmitted from the central office to subscribers. The system uses only one stable oscillator per channel, with all other oscillatory signals synchronized thereby. In a preferred embodiment, each subscriber carrier is an integral sub-multiple of the central office carrier for that channel and is obtained by frequency division of the central office carrier. Filtering requirements are minimized by using the phase shift method of SSB generation and reception.

    • A speech waveform is converted to a constant amplitude square wave in which the transitions between the amplitude extremes are spaced so as to carry the speech information. The system includes a pair of tuned amplifier circuits which act as high-pass filters having a 6 decibel per octave slope from 0 to 15,000 cycles followed by two stages, each comprised of an amplifier and clipper circuit, for converting the filtered waveform to a square wave. A radio transmitter and receiver having a plurality of separate channels within a conventional single side band transmitter bandwidth and a system for transmitting secure speech information are also disclosed.
