    • A wideband antenna for receiving digital television signals includes a substrate, a radiating plate, a first radiating element, and a second radiating element. The radiating plate is formed on the substrate and the radiating plate has a first radiating area, a second radiating area and a slit formed between the first and the second radiating areas. The first and the second radiating elements are pivotedly connected to the radiating plate. The first radiating element and the second radiating element are constructed as a dipole antenna structure of the antenna so as to excite a first resonant mode. The radiating plate also acts as a matching circuit thereon so as to excite a second resonant mode. The center frequency of the second resonant mode is shifted toward the center frequency of the first resonant mode with the incorporation of the radiating plate so that the antenna has a wideband characteristic.

    • Antenna for operation on a plurality of frequencies, the antenna including apex fed opposing swept elements and a plurality of stubs parallel to a central element, a plurality of capacitors connected between one end of the central element and ends of the stubs, and a coaxial cable connected to the opposing swept elements. Each swept element is of a triangular configuration with a central element running from the apex to the base of the triangle at a substantially perpendicular intersection. A plurality of matching stubs connect from the coaxial fed apex and substantially parallel along the central tube, secured at the other end with clamps or capacitors. Ceramic doorknob capacitors connect between the coaxial fed apex and a free end of the first stub and between the first and second stub ends. A hairpin coil can be utilized between the apex feed and the first capacitor, providing required circuit Q. A matching end can connect across the feedpoint at a common matching stub point for the swept elements. A plurality of apex fed opposing swept elements positioned on a boom and supported by a mast provides a beam antenna when using a driven element and a reflector element, and additionally a director element as desired. The antenna can be structured to operate on a plurality of frequencies such as 20 meters, 15 meters and 10 meters in the amateur radio spectrum or on any other frequencies as desired in the HF or higher spectrum.

    • A bi-loop antenna system comprises an array of four bi-loop antennas equally spaced from the array axis and fed in phase and with equal power. Each antenna comprises an electrical conductor configured as two substantially identical open-ended coplanar loops, preferably square in shape, having colinear axes parallel to the array axis and electrically connected together, the open ends defining two closely spaced feed points at the middle of the array. The array is fed by a four-way coaxial power divider with output ports connected to the antennas, respectively, remote from the feed points thereof by coaxial lines of equal length. A balun comprising a portion of one of the loops of each antenna and a closely spaced coextensive conductive strip connects the inner and outer conductors of the coaxial cable to the two feed points, respectively, of the antenna. In a preferred embodiment, the conductors of each antenna are formed on a dielectric sheet or board by printed circuit techniques. This antenna system produces a horizontally polarized omnidirectional radiation pattern over an octave bandwidth and has a VSWR response of the input impedance with a value less than 2:1 over the octave bandwidth.
