The pushbutton is especially useful in control pushbutton panels.

    • A microswitch includes a base (1), fixed contacts (2) and movable contacts (3). The movable contacts (3) are connected to a drive member (4) by way of a mechanism for switching the movable contacts having at least two assemblies (7) disposed in symmetry relative to the axis of the drive member (4). Each of the assemblies (7) includes a lever (8) and a spring (9) the outer ends (15,16) of which are interconnected to be capable of swinging angularly relative to each other. One element (8) of these two elements (8, 9) of the assemblies (7) is connected by its inner end (10) to the drive member (4) for swinging angularly relative thereto. Other respective elements (9) of each assembly (7) on which the movable contacts (3) are secured have the form of an integral resilient part (12) the central portion of which has secured thereto the movable contacts (3). The resilient part (12) at the portions thereof between the attachment points thereon of the movable contacts (3) and its outer ends (15) define in each assembly (7) of the mechanism for switching the movable contacts resilient elements (9) arranged in symmetry relative to the axis of the drive member (4) at an angle to each other in any possible position of the drive member (4). Also provided are stop elements (17) for restricting the movement of the outer ends of the assemblies of the mechanism for switching the movable contacts. The attachment points of the movable contacts (3) on the resilient part (12) are located between the stop elements (17) at equal distances therefrom.

    • A reduced size pushbutton (6) switch having a plurality of contact pairs (40, 42, 44, 46) arranged angularly for radial actuation by normally-open cams (34c) or normally-closed cams (34d) on a vertically reciprocated actuator block (34) by a snap-action mechansim (30c, 30d, 36, 38 or 66, 68a). The contact pairs are electrically connected to a control circuitry PC board (52) which provides an output control as well as controlling a multi-character alpha-numeric display mounted within the pushbutton. This display includes a light source (22), a display (24) and movable (14) and stationary (12) contacts connecting the light source to a display drive PC board (10) which may be connected to the control circuitry PC board to afford control of the display by some of the contact pairs. A seal (8) between the front panel and the display PC board hugs the pushbutton to prevent dirt from entering the switch base (54).

    • In an electrical switch including a housing and a button in which the button, by means of a manual depression thereof in a single direction is movable relative to the housing between two positions and during this movement causes a snap spring inserted in the button to slip from a first extreme position to a second one, the snap spring is set up or interlocked between two bearings or seats provided in opposite walls of the housing. The central part of the snap spring is arranged in a bridge member which carries resilient contact fingers. The bridge member is further arranged with a two-sided clearance in a recess provided in the button. The switch overcomes the problems of microphonic noise generated by any movement between the button and the housing and reduces considerably the contact resistances at the contact points due to a scrabing movement between the metal parts establishing the electrical connections.
