摘要： A portable bag formed from a tubular blank of stitchable material includes an upper part provided with a carrying member, such as a carrying aperture or the like, a mantle and a bottom. In one embodiment, the upper part of the bag is formed by placing a reinforcing patch on an upper end region of the blank and folding the upper end region of the blank over itself as least one time to form at least two overlying fold regions with the reinforcing patch interposed between the at least two fold regions, and stitching a seam across the overlying fold regions and the reinforcing patch interposed therebetween to close the upper part of the bag. In another embodiment, the upper part of the bag is formed by first folding the upper end region of the blank over itself at least one time to form at least two overlying fold regions and then affixing a reinforcing patch over at least a first one of two opposed sides of the folded upper end region of the blank whereupon a seam is stitched across the overlying fold regions and the reinforcing patch affixed thereover to close the upper part of the bag. In this embodiment, the reinforcing patch may, alternatively, extend over both of the opposed sides of the folded upper end region of the blank which form the upper part of the bag.

摘要： An article carrier especially useful for supporting and carrying paper grocery bags includes a rigid, substantially planar upright member and a pair of rigid, substantially planar support members. The support members are hinged to a bottom end of the upright member and are independently movable between raised and lowered positions. When both of the support members are in the lowered position, a contacting edge surface defined by one of the support members contacts a mating contacting edge surface defined by the other support member and a contacting edge surface defined by the bottom of the upright member contacts both of the support members. The mutual contact between the support member contacting surfaces the contact between the support members and the upright member contacting surface retains the support members perpendicular to the upright member under load without need for additional linkages between the upright member and the support members. Hooks fixed to the upper end of the upright member are used to support looped articles such as key rings. Retaining devices fixed to the upper end of the upright member retain the edges of paper grocery bags to lessen movement of the grocery bags with respect to the article carrier during transportation.

摘要： A method of producing a carrier bag from synthetic thermoplastic foil having a reinforcement at the upper edge of the carrier bag and punched grip apertures passing through both walls of the carrier bag. The foil can either be a flat band or in tubular form which is longitudinally slit. Furthermore, reinforcing inserts may be intermittently spaced along the longitudinal edges of the foil. The edges of the foil may then be longitudinally slit so as to form longitudinal strips, which in turn are bent around the cut edge of the foil and welded to the foil. If the foil has not been doubled onto itself, it is then folded along its longitudinal medium line, and the folded edges are welded and transverse welds and cuts are made along the foil to form the carrier bags.
