    • A control station for use individually or as an element of a distributed process control system has an improved high frequency isolation and grounding system incorporating a "Chomeric" conductive foil tape on both the cabinet front and back walls as well as on the doors and a V-shaped "Chomeric" conductive gasket placed between the cabinet wall and the door in the area of the conductive tape to insure proper sealing of the door and opening to eliminate all RFI (radio frequency interference) problems and meet European standards for RFI cabinet emmisions. This cabinet also has a grounding system comprising a large area swing clip for removing the door as well as a hybrid grounding circuit to eliminate ground potential differences due to geological variations found in different parts of the landscape since the signals reaching the cabinet may originate at remote locations up to a mile or more from the cabinet. The circuit accomplishes this by grounding the DC signals at only one end while the AC signals are grounded at both ends

    • Plug-through electrical transient voltage surge suppression for watt-hour meters and downstream electrical equipment. A circuit board is configured to fit about the power terminals of such a meter and are supported by the terminals or by a plug-and-jack adapter interposed between the meter and its socket in a grounded utility box or panel. The circuit board conveniently and effectively connects a plurality of varistors between the power terminals and an external ground, enabling the varistors to clip voltage surges unassisted and to shunt resulting surge currents to ground, thereby protecting both the meter and powered downstream electrical equipment from possible surge damage. Each varistor is preferably sandwiched contiguously between the grounding plate and respective powered conductive surface layers on the board, or the varistors may be mounted on pairs of leads connected between ground and powered leads and preferably bendable to parallel the varistors to the board and grounding plate.

    • An RFI through-let for screening signals transmitted between different components, for instance circuit boards, of which one component is arranged in a screened space, includes signal-transmission through-let capacitors which are mounted in a screen plate intended to be positioned in a rectangular opening in the side-wall of the screened space. The screen plate is comprised of a front part which includes a rectangular, generally flat plate having tongues or tabs disposed along the sides thereof and also having a central, rectangular hollow, and a holding part which is soldered firmly in the vicinity of the hollow of the front part. The holding part includes a flat plate whose long sides are bent to form guide flanges which extend perpendicularly downwards away from the front part, along a first line corresponding to the long sides of the opening, and along a second line downwardly of the first line are further bent inwardly towards one another. Parts punched-out along the first line cause shoulders to be formed that project upwards and outwards towards the front part and are intended to grip-in behind the side-wall of the space when fitting the screen plate and therewith hold the screen plate firmly in the opening.
