    • The present invention provides a stereoscopic image display which controls display mode of the stereoscopic image display according to the entered image signal and displays both 2D images and stereoscopic images at high resolution with better viewing.     • Provided is a spatial image display device capable of forming more natural spatial images even with a simple configuration. In the spatial image display device 10, a two-dimensional display image corresponding to a video signal is generated by a display section 2. Display image light corresponding to one group of pixels 22 in the display section 2 is collectively subjected to wavefront transformation and collectively deflected by one liquid optical element 41 corresponding to that one group of pixels 22. Therefore, compared with a case where one liquid optical element 41 is provided for one pixel 22, a larger number of various different two-dimensional display image light are to be emitted all at once toward different directions in the horizontal plane, without increasing the frame rate in the display section 2.

    • A 3-D image display including an image forming unit for forming an image by modulating light according to image information is provided. The 3-D image display includes a display device with a plurality of first regions for forming a left eye image and a plurality of second regions for forming a right eye image in a 3-D image mode. The 3-D image display also includes a viewpoint controller with first and second reflection mirror devices for reflecting light of a left eye image and light of a right eye image input from the image forming unit to first and second viewpoints when displaying a 3-D image. The locations of the first and second viewpoints may be changed by controlling an angle of reflection surfaces of the first and second reflection mirror devices.

    • A system for providing respective video signals to at least two viewers is disclosed. The system includes a control unit; and a display connected to the control unit. The control unit is operable to control the display to alternately display an image from a first video signal and an image from a second video signal, to synchronize a first shuttered filter to the display such that the first filter is shuttered when the second video signal image is displayed, and to synchronize a second shuttered filter to the display such that the second filter is shuttered when the first video signal image is displayed. In this way only the first video signal image is provided to a first viewer using the first shuttered filter and only the second video signal image is provided to a second viewer using the second shuttered filter.
