On a bottom portion of an apparatus main body 1 in such a horizontally placed condition that a document table glass 2 is installed nearly horizontally, a storage portion 1c for storing the support structure is provided, and support structures 31, 32, 33 are released from the storage portion and get into around the side of a document cover 6 and a hinge 7, from the bottom portion, and holds the apparatus main body 1 in a vertically placed condition.

摘要： The scanner apparatus which can be stored in the pedestal supporting the display apparatus has slide members on its side, which are engaged with slide members provided on the pedestal, and the apparatus can be stored so as to be drawn out freely from the pedestal. In addition, the upper unit incorporating an automatic document feeder is rotatable upward on a rotary shaft provided on the side of the apparatus in a state of being drawn out from the pedestal, and when a jam occurs, the scanner apparatus is drawn out from the pedestal to rotate the upper unit upward and open a part of a sheet feeding path, and thereby a jammed sheet can be removed.

摘要： An image scanning device is provided with a transparent plate, a contact image sensor, a scanning device casing, a cover member, and a display device. An image medium having an image to be scanned is placed on the transparent plate. The contact image sensor is disposed below the transparent plate, and scans the image of the image medium placed on the transparent plate. The scanning device casing houses the transparent plate and the contact image sensor. The cover member covers a top face of the transparent plate. The display device is capable of moving between a lying position and a standing position. In a state where the display device is positioned anywhere between the lying position and the standing position, a top end of the display device is lower than a top end of the cover member, and a bottom end of the display device is higher than a bottom end of the scanning device casing.

On the other hand, the clearing section cancels the execution of the automatic clear processing if the position discriminating section discriminates that the operation panel is at a second position.
