    • An enhanced computer telephony integration system that facilitates the interaction and integration of a private branch exchange (PBX) with a client computer on a computer network. An enhanced telephony (ET) server connects to the PBX and to all running instances of an ET client on a user's computers. The ET server acts as a proxy between the ET clients and the PBX. The ET clients register with the ET server for a certain telephone extension. The ET server then can forward telephone action requests (such as placing a telephone call) from the registered ET clients to the PBX servicing the telephone extension. Moreover, the ET server can relay telephone events (such as an incoming call) from the PBX to all registered clients. The ET server facilitates seamless integration of telephone and personal computer features to provide a rich user-controlled computer-telephone integration for a user.

    • A telecommunications system includes a telecommunications switching system, at least one subscriber terminal coupled to the switching system, at least one telecommunications agency coupled to the switching system. The agency stores subscriber information and provides the information to external requestors in the form of subscriber service images defining services and features to be provided for subscribers. The subscriber terminal includes a portable subscriber module identifying the subscriber and optionally contains information defining services and features to be provided for the subscriber by the subscriber terminal and the switching system. The switching system has a facility for storing all subscriber-related information as a plurality of transient subscriber service images defining the services and features to be provided for subscribers having pending or active calls. When the subscriber requests service, the agency or the portable subscriber module provide the image information to the switching system, which creates an image instance and provides the requested service. Once the service is concluded, the image instance is released.

    • The present invention relates generally to the field of distribution of services in communication networks and particularly to provisioning of services in a communication network with a plurality of service systems, service providers and service enablers. The system according to the invention provides a system component register (SCR) comprising service information relating to a plurality of services in the service network, said service information in stored in service data records, one for each service or group of services. Each service data records comprise at least one service instance field identifying a service instance for the specific service or group of services; and, if the specific service or group of services is a complex service or utilizes a shared resource, at least one dependency field defining dependencies for the specific service or group of services to at least one other service system in the service network.

    • Upon providing the same functions as those of telephone terminals in a telephone system to a mobile communication terminal outside the telephone system, the mobile communication terminal transmits a download request of system information to a main apparatus in the telephone system. This download request contains an user ID and a telephone number of the mobile communication terminal. The main apparatus compares the user ID contained in the download request with those stored and managed in the user database so as to check user's authenticity. The main apparatus then accesses the mobile communication terminal via a public network on the basis of the telephone number, and transmits the requested system information, thus providing the same functions as those of the telephone terminals.
