摘要： A method and system for improving echo suppression and/or duplexity of handsfree telephone applications is presented. An echo suppression unit for an electronic device comprising a loudspeaker and a microphone is described. The microphone is configured to capture a transmit signal, wherein the transmit signal comprises an echo of a receive signal rendered by the loudspeaker. The echo suppression unit is configured to determine, based on the receive signal, whether the receive signal comprises a first frequency component causing the echo of the receive signal to comprise a distortion component. The distortion component comprises one or more frequencies which are not comprised within the first frequency component. Furthermore, the echo suppression unit is configured to apply a post-filter to the transmit signal, if it is determined that the receive signal comprises the first frequency component. The post-filter is configured to selectively attenuate the distortion component.

A wireless transceiver module is mounted on a printed circuit board and is contained in a component cavity between the wristband and the wristband cap. A foil antenna is attached directly to the printed circuit board and extends between an outer layer and a wrist-facing layer of a flexible strap portion of the wristband. A microphone is located between the layers of the opposite flexible strap portion of the wristband at least two centimeters away from the wireless transceiver module. The single button is formed using the interleaved fingers of a landing pad on a surface beneath the inner surface of the wristband. The inner surface of the wristband is covered by a layer of conductive material that makes an electrical connection between the interleaved fingers when the outer surface of the wristband is pressed.

The apparatus can include a vocoder having different bit rate modes and a bit rate mode is selected based upon the dial string entered by a user. Dial strings can be stored at the device or on a network. The apparatus can include a mode selector to select a desired vocoder mode to generate an encoded voice signal.
