    • Methods and systems are described for assigning the proper internet protocol (IP) address to a client device following authentication of the client device on a network. In particular, at commencement of an authentication procedure of the client device, a role is associated with the client device that denies all DHCP renews/requests. By assigning a role to the client device 103 with a “deny DHCP renew/request” rule at the commencement of an authentication procedure, the systems and methods described herein ensure that a race condition does not allow the client device to renew an IP address in an old segment of the network. Accordingly, the client device may avoid a possibly improper IP address in a segment of the network system in which the client device is no longer associated with or operating on.

    • There is provided a network device disposed at an interface between an access segment and an interconnecting layer of a data center. The network device includes an address resolution processor configured to receive an address request addressed to virtual machines in a transmission domain of the network device. The address request specifying a source layer 2 address, requesting a layer 2 address of a target virtual machine in the data center, and specifying a layer 3 address of the target virtual machine. The network device is further configured to transmit a local message over the first access segment requesting the respective layer 2 address of a virtual machine which has the specified layer 3 address. In response to receiving a reply, the network device transmits a message to the specified source layer 2 address to provide the layer 2 address of the network device and the specified layer 3 address.

    • The present invention provides a base station deployment configuration method. The method includes: receiving, by a base station after being powered on for a first time, a virtual local area network identity and composite information, receiving, by the base station, a plurality of ping packets, and learning, by the base station, the received virtual local area network identity in the service packet and virtual local area network identities in all the received ping packets; traversing, by the base station, the learned virtual local area network identities, and sending a DHCP request to a DHCP server; receiving, by the base station, a DHCP response message returned by the DHCP server; and establishing, by the base station, an OM IP address connection to a management channel of the wireless network manager according to the OM IP address, and receiving a complete configuration delivered through the management channel.

    • One of the embodiments of the present invention relates to a method for routing frames via a node with at least one VLAN—“Virtual Local Area Network” interface which is configured to process frames associated with at least one VLAN. The method comprises: receiving an ingress frame at a source physical port of said node, wherein said ingress frame carries one or more VLAN tags and each of said VLAN tags is arranged to identify one VLAN ID; determining a forwarding destination for said frame within or among at least one service domain; and transmitting a corresponding egress frame at a destination physical port of said node, wherein said egress frame carries one or more VLAN tags and each of said VLAN tags is arranged to identify one VLAN ID. The embodiments of the present invention further provide corresponding network node device and computer program product.
