摘要： A laser system, such as a master oscillator/power amplifier system, comprises a gain medium and a stimulated Brillouin scattering SBS mirror system. The SBS mirror system includes an in situ filtered SBS medium that comprises a compound having a small negative non-linear index of refraction, such as a perfluoro compound. An SBS relay telescope having a telescope focal point includes a baffle at the telescope focal point which blocks off angle beams. A beam splitter is placed between the SBS mirror system and the SBS relay telescope, directing a fraction of the beam to an alternate beam path for an alignment fiducial. The SBS mirror system has a collimated SBS cell and a focused SBS cell. An adjustable attenuator is placed between the collimated SBS cell and the focused SBS cell, by which pulse width of the reflected beam can be adjusted.

摘要： A process for operation of a laser device (1) is described, whereby circulating light pulses each comprising spectral components according to a plurality of longitudinal modes of a resonator configuration (3) are generated in the resonator configuration (3) and subjected to a compensation of group velocity dispersion, and a predetermined linear dispersion is introduced into the light path of the resonator configuration (3), so that at least one mode has a predetermined frequency and/or the mode distance between the modes has a predetermined value. Furthermore, regulations for stabilizing the laser device on the basis of this process and applications of the regulations for the generation for stabilized, ultra-short light pulses, generation of optical frequencies and in the frequency and/or time measuring technique as well as in the spectroscopy are described.

摘要： A laser system includes a resonator having two gain modules generating pulses, coupled with intra-cavity polarization into a single beam line, using a single output coupler. A laser controller controls the laser heads to emit pulses in rapid succession, such as pulse pairs separated by a time interval of less than about 1 millisecond, and in some embodiments in a range from about zero (overlapping) to about 100 microseconds. Also a system adapted for metrology using particle image velocimetry PIV uses the resonator. For PIV, optics are provided in the output beam paths which expand the beam to form pulsed illumination sheets. A camera is used to capture images of the pulsed illumination sheets for analysis.

摘要： A long-long coupled-cavity glass laser includes a pair of active waveguide cavities that are coherently coupled using a passive waveguide cavity. The active and passive waveguide cavities are of sufficient length so that multiple supermodes and multiple peaks in the coupling coefficient are created over the width of the gain spectra. The supermodes are gain flattened so that the one supermode that coincides with a peak in the coupling coefficient will oscillate. Tunability is achieved by changing the optical path length of either the passive or active waveguide cavities to match a different supermode to a different coupling coefficient peak.

摘要： An ultraviolet laser apparatus which generates laser light at 193 nm to 213 nm with high temporal and spatial coherence and relatively high power is disclosed. The UV laser apparatus provides a light source for an exposure device for optical lithography and an aberration measurement interferometer that measures lens wave front aberration. The laser apparatus disclosed herein comprises two lasers having laser resonators that are coincident along a portion of their respective optical paths. A nonlinear optical crystal is located along the shared optical path portion for sum frequency generation of the light of the respective lasers.
