In one embodiment, a wideband Doherty amplifier includes Doherty amplifier circuitry and a wideband combining network. The wideband combining network includes a wideband quarter-wave impedance transformer that includes a quarter-wave impedance transformer and compensation circuitry connected in parallel with the quarter-wave impedance transformer at a low-impedance end of the quarter-wave impedance transformer. The compensation circuitry is configured to reduce a total quality factor of the wideband quarter-wave impedance transformer as compared to a quality factor of the quarter-wave impedance transformer, which in turn increases a bandwidth of the wideband quarter-wave impedance transformer, and thus a bandwidth of the wideband Doherty amplifier.

摘要： A waveguide structure according to one embodiment includes an upper waveguide and a mode conversion portion. The upper waveguide internally transmits a high frequency signal in TE10 mode along a first direction. The mode conversion portion is configured to electromagnetically couple with the upper waveguide. The mode conversion portion converts the high frequency signal propagating through the upper waveguide from TE10 mode to TM11 mode. The mode conversion portion transmits the high frequency signal converted in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. According to the waveguide structure pursuant to the embodiment, it is possible to attain excellent transmission characteristics of high frequency signals.

摘要： An apparatus, system and method are described for impedance matching between a semiconductor package and a load on a board. In one embodiment of the present invention, a package trace is provided with an array of stubs that is designed to provide capacitance to the trace in order to more effectively match a wirebond. This improved match results in improvements in return loss, especially in higher speed applications such as broadband. Design parameters such as the width and length of each stub, and the spacing between the stubs may be varied depending on the impedance requirements of the trace.
