    • A rotating portion of a motor includes a magnet, a yoke, and a hub. An upper portion of the yoke is fixed to the hub. The yoke includes a first inner circumferential surface radially opposite to an outer circumferential surface of the magnet with a first gap intervening therebetween, and a second inner circumferential surface radially opposite to the outer circumferential surface of the magnet with a second gap intervening therebetween below the first inner circumferential surface. The second inner circumferential surface is parallel or substantially parallel to the outer circumferential surface of the magnet, and is located radially outward of the first inner circumferential surface. An adhesive is provided in at least a portion of the first gap. No adhesive is provided in at least a lower axial end portion of the second gap.

    • A spindle motor is used in a disk drive apparatus including a cover member to be attached to the spindle motor. The spindle motor includes a rotor portion; a bearing portion; a stator portion; a base portion molded by casting, and arranged to contain the rotor portion, the bearing portion, and the stator portion; and a screw attachment member fixed to the base portion, and including a screw hole. The base portion includes a plate portion arranged to extend radially with respect to a central axis, and a wall portion arranged to extend in an axial direction from a radially outer edge of the plate portion. The wall portion is arranged to support at least a portion of the cover member. An inside surface of the base portion includes a metal surface subjected to a cutting process. The screw attachment member is arranged on the wall portion.

    • A storage device enclosure may include a baseplate having a bottom portion and walls extending from a perimeter of the bottom portion, a cover that includes a planar interface surface with the baseplate, and a gasket configured to be compressed between the baseplate and the cover at the interface surface. The cover may include a skirt extending about a perimeter of the cover and one or more discrete areas with a hem in place of the skirt. The baseplate may include one or more close clearance areas are thinner and that correspond to areas of the cover that include the hem. One or more hemmed seals are formed when the baseplate and the cover are pressed together.

    • The present disclosure relates to an apparatus that includes an electrical connector that is coupled to a housing and that extends through a feedthrough aperture in the housing. The electrical connector has an electrically insulating base that has multiple layers of electrically insulating material with electrical traces extending between the multiple layers. The electrically insulating base also has a first portion disposed in the interior cavity, a second portion disposed external to the interior cavity, and a sealing portion disposed between the inwardly positioned portion and the outwardly positioned portion. The electrical connector also includes a first plurality of electrical leads that are disposed on the outwardly positioned portion of the electrically insulating base and a second plurality of electrical leads disposed on the inwardly positioned portion of the electrically isolating base material. Each of the electrical leads is electrically coupled to a corresponding lead.
