摘要： A method includes uploading a plurality of master songs at a server location to a server located at the server location; allowing a first user to listen to a selected song from the plurality of master songs on an electronic device at a user location, the selected song being transmitted across an electronic network from the server at the server location; allowing the first user to record a user-generated stem track using the electronic device during the prior step, the electronic device being located at the user location; without saving the user-generated stem track at the user location, simultaneously with the prior step, transmitting only the user-generated stem track across the electronic network to the server location; storing the user-generated stem track on the server at the server location; allowing the first user to select, from the user location, a plurality of other individual user-generated stem tracks from the server and combine the selected user-generated stem tracks at the user location to form a user-generated cover song; and transmitting an electronic message to other users who generated each of the plurality of other individual user-generated stem tracks, informing the other users of the combination of the selected user-generated stem tracks to form the user-generated cover song.

摘要： A content recognition system operates in conjunction with a media hosting service to identify hosted media content and ownership rights associated with the hosted content. By applying melody recognition, the content recognition system can identify compositions embodied in hosted media content even when these compositions do not precisely match any known sound recording. Thus, the content recognition system is beneficially able to detect, for example, recorded cover performances and recorded live performances embodied in hosted media content. Once identified, ownership information is determined and the media hosting service can carry out appropriate rights management policies associated with the content such as monetizing or blocking the protected content.

摘要： An audiovisual reproduction system triggered by payment from a user is developed around a microprocessor device. The system includes memory containing, in compressed digital form, audio and visual information , and a display and digital audio reproduction unit, for creating a multimedia environment. The display includes a video monitor and an interactive user interface which reacts to external events and translates the external events for a multitasking operating system as events activating, via a graphical module of a library of integrated tools and services, a display of windows or frames providing control of physical operating parameters of the audiovisual reproduction system. The external events includes at least a down-event where the user contacts a representation displayed on the touch screen, selecting a parameter to modify, and an up-event where the use breaks contact with the screen, which triggers modification of the selected parameter, saving the parameter in the memory.

Each unit includes structure for interactively communicating with the user for selecting a piece or a menu, a payment device, a computer network card, and a permanent semiconductor memory containing a multitask operating system comprising at least a hard disc access management task. The order for performing a selected piece is processed as a hard disc sequential access task. The hard disc is declared as a peripheral corresponding to the network card of the unit, enabling a request to be sent through the network to the server for processing.
