摘要： A system and method are disclosed for determining and alerting a user as to whether an object will successfully scan before the post-processing of the scan data. In embodiments, before post-processing of the scan data begins, the scan data is processed by a machine learning algorithm which is able to determine whether and/or how likely the scan data is to return an accurate scanned reproduction of the scanned object. The machine learning algorithm may also suggest new positions for the object in the environment where the scan is more likely to be successful.

摘要： A system and method, which may be an offline method, extracts relevant image features about listing items in a network-based publication system for enabling image similarity searching of such listing items. When a seller lists an item, an image of the item is uploaded and may be sent to a picture processing service, which generates several digests. The digests are compressed data structures each representing a particular image feature such as edge, color, texture, or words. These digests are then stored in a search database, where the digests can be used to retrieve listings by image similarity at scale. A similar process can be performed for a query listing for searching the search database for items similar to the query listing.

摘要： A composition model is developed based on the image segmentation and the vanishing point of the scene. By integrating both photometric and geometric cues, better segmentation is provided. These cues are directly used to detect the dominant vanishing point in an image without extracting any line segments. Based on the composition model, a novel image retrieval system is developed which can retrieve images with similar compositions as the query image from a collection of images and provide feedback to photographers.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention relate to directing orientation on a screen by determining an orientation of a user's fingerprint. A user's finger position may be determined when the user's finger is a predetermined distance from or in contact with a touch-sensitive device. The user's finger position may be compared with a finger position database. The finger position database may include known finger positions associated with a screen orientation. A match analysis may be performed to determine which known finger position most closely resembles the user's finger position. A screen orientation associated with the known finger position most closely matching the user's finger position may be selected. Once the screen orientation is selected, an image may be displayed on a screen corresponding with the selected screen orientation.

摘要： System and method for control using face detection or hand gesture detection algorithms in a captured image. Based on the existence of a detected human face or a hand gesture in an image captured by a digital camera (still or video), a control signal is generated and provided to a device. The control may provide power or disconnect power supply to the device (or part of the device circuits). Further, the location of the detected face in the image may be used to rotate a display screen horizontally, vertically or both, to achieve a better line of sight with a viewing person. If two or more faces are detected, the average location is calculated and used for line of sight correction. A linear feedback control loop is implemented wherein detected face deviation from the optimum is the error to be corrected by rotating the display to the required angular position. A hand gesture detection can be used as a replacement to a remote control wherein the various hand gestures control the various function of the controlled unit, such as a television set.
