A method may include receiving a handwritten input and determining that the handwritten input comprises a shirorekha stroke based on one or more shirorekha detection criteria. Shirorekha detection criteria may be at least one criterion such as a length of the shirorekha stroke, a horizontality of the shirorekha stroke, a straightness of the shirorekha stroke, a position in time at which the shirorekha stroke is made in relation to one or more other strokes in the handwritten input, and the like. Next, one or more recognized characters may be provided corresponding to the handwritten input.

摘要： A method is provided for generating ink data including stroke objects. The method includes generally four steps. The first step receives device-dependent user-input data including either one of pen event data of Type 1, which includes indicator position data and indicator pressure data, or pen event data of Type 2, which includes indicator position data but does not include indicator pressure data. The second step determines whether the pen event data is Type 1 or Type 2. The third step derives one or both of radius data for defining a width of the stroke object and transparency data for defining a transparency of the stroke object, based on the pen event data of Type 1 or Type 2. The fourth step outputs the stroke object including said one or both of radius data and transparency data as device-independent common attribute value(s) of each of multiple points of the stroke object in a predetermined format.

摘要： Systems and methods are provided for displaying free-form drawing on a contact-sensitive display. A new contact on the display is detected by a computer. A determination is made by the computer as to whether a width of the new contact is less than a maximum width. When the width of the new contact is less than the maximum width, the width of the new contact is compared to a width of other current contacts by the computer. When the width of the new contact is less than widths of all other current contacts, the new contact is tracked by the computer using a first data structure. A release of the new contact from the display is detected by the computer. Data associated with the new contact is transferred from the first data structure to the second data structure by the computer when the new contact is detected as being released.

摘要： Disclosed are music symbol recognition apparatuses and methods that recognise music symbols from handwritten music notations. Various implementations may process handwritten music notations by segmenting the handwritten music notations into a plurality of elementary ink segments and then grouping the segments into graphical objects based on spatial relationships between the segments. One or more candidate music symbols may be determined for each graphical object, along with a symbol cost for each symbol, which represents a likelihood that the graphical object belongs to a predetermined class of symbols. The music symbol candidates may be parsed to form graphs based on grammar rules, and the graph most likely to represent the handwritten music notations may be selected for display or other use. The selection may be based on the symbol costs associated with each candidate and on spatial costs associated with the grammar rules that are applied to the candidates.
