Particularly, content is personalized and presented to a user in a more cognitive and user-understandable manner to improve the impact and the effectiveness on the user. The system utilizes artificial intelligence to analyze and categorize the content and thereby learns to discover the core concept of the content and any patterns involved. The system also understands the user's interests by capturing the preferred presentation formats and the user's past knowledge. The system maps the categorized content and user's interests and personalizes the content and renders into user preferred presentation type and format. The system supplements the main presentation type with additional related content. The system is capable of continuously monitoring the user activities to understand the effectiveness of the presented content type and formats, and feedback is exploited to continuous improvement of presented content and presentation type and formats.

    • A computer-implemented method of extracting key phrases from a document is disclosed comprising the steps of accessing a repository comprising linked subjects, the repository comprising first and second data structures representing the relationship between said subjects using different representation criteria; pruning the first data structure by removing links between subjects based on a further relationship between said subjects in the second data structure; matching phrases in said document to subjects in the pruned first data structure; further pruning the pruned first data structure by removing unmatched subjects that are not linked to matched subjects; determining a ranking for each matched subject; and selecting key phrases using the determined subject rankings. A computer program for implementing the steps of this method when executed on a computer is also disclosed.

    • One or more classification algorithms are applied to at least one natural language document in order to extract both attributes and values of a given product. Supervised classification algorithms, semi-supervised classification algorithms, unsupervised classification algorithms or combinations of such classification algorithms may be employed for this purpose. The at least one natural language document may be obtained via a public communication network. Two or more attributes (or two or more values) thus identified may be merged to form one or more attribute phrases or value phrases. Once attributes and values have been extracted in this manner, association or linking operations may be performed to establish attribute-value pairs that are descriptive of the product. In a presently preferred embodiment, an (unsupervised) algorithm is used to generate seed attributes and values which can then support a supervised or semi-supervised classification algorithm.
