摘要： A control device drives a main driving device among driving devices each used to discharge recording material from a recording material container. A malfunction detector detects malfunction of the main driving device. When the malfunction detector has detected the malfunction, a recording material amount setting unit sets information indicating an amount of the recording material in the recording material container connected to the main driving device to a first value. A main driving device switching unit stops, when an amount of the recording material in the recording material container connected to the main driving device is the first value, driving the main driving device and then, when the driving devices other than the main driving device include one driving device having a recording material container connected thereto that contains a recording material an amount of which exceeds the first value, switches the main driving device to the one driving device.

The upper portion having a housing and a high frequency vibrator, the housing having a first end, a second end opposite the first end, and a gasket positioned adjacent the first end. The lower portion having a collector funnel, a low frequency vibrator and a collar securing the low frequency vibrator to the collector funnel. The sieve having a mesh size, a perimeter and a gasket positioned adjacent the perimeter. The upper portion is releasably secured to the first container and the sieve is releasably secured between the second end of the upper portion and the lower portion.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a developer conveyance device to transport developer, using a positive-displacement pump to alternately generate positive pressure and negative pressure by changing a volume of an internal space thereof, a destination developer container to which the developer conveyance device transports developer, a sensor provided to the destination developer container, to detect developer in the destination developer container, and a controller to control the positive-displacement pump according to a detection result generated by the sensor. The controller disabled detection of developer by the sensor in a non-detection period that starts from a stop of the positive-displacement pump.

摘要： A powder container includes a powder chamber for containing powder for forming images, a powder outlet formed in a face of the powder container, and a shutter assembly to open and close the powder outlet and including first and second shutters. The first shutter is movable between a sealing position to close the powder outlet and an open position to open the powder outlet and includes a pressed member to cancel retention of the first shutter at the sealing position. The second shutter includes a pressing projection that interferes with the pressed member of the first shutter and is movable between a shielding position to cover the pressed member without interference between the pressing projection and the pressed member and a releasing position to press the pressed member with the pressing projection.

A photoreceptor and marking material are maintained within the cartridge. The photoreceptor transfers marking material from within the cartridge in a pattern to the print media. The printing apparatus also includes a receptacle, that is potentially on the exterior of the device body, which is connected to a supply conduit. A storage container can be positioned in the receptacle. The storage container generally holds only marking material, and the storage container easily and conveniently resupplies the marking material to the cartridge through the supply conduit when the storage container is positioned in the receptacle (e.g., after the cartridge has consumed the original supply of marking material) so as to extend a useful life of the cartridge.
