    • An engine braking system for vehicles may include a rocker shaft having a lubricating oil passage and a braking oil passage, a valve unit selectively supplying part of the oil supplied to the lubricating oil passage, into the braking oil passage, and at least one exhaust rocker arm, into which the rocker shaft is inserted and pivotal about the rocker shaft, wherein the at least one exhaust rocker arm has, therein, a first connection passage communicating with the braking oil passage and a first recess, a stopper fixed above the first recess, and an actuator housed in the first recess and including a pressing piston, wherein the pressing piston moves to contact the stopper by hydraulic pressure of the oil supplied from the braking oil passage into the first recess and thus presses the at least one exhaust rocker arm in a downward direction.

    • A device for variably adjusting the timing control of gas exchange valves of an internal combustion engine. The device has a hydraulic phase adjustment device, a control valve and an auxiliary pressure source. The phase adjustment device can be brought into driving connection with a crankshaft and a camshaft, the phase adjustment device has at least two counter-working pressure chambers, and a phase relation of the camshaft relative to the crankshaft is variably adjustable by charging of the pressure chambers with pressure medium. The control valve has at least one inflow port and a first and a second working port. The inflow port is connectable to a pressure medium pump, and the first working port is connectable to the first pressure chamber and the second working port to the second pressure chamber.

    • Systems and methods of actuating engine valves using a hydraulic valve actuation system are disclosed. The valve actuation system includes a master piston and two slave pistons slidably disposed in bores provided in a housing. The master piston and two slave pistons are connected together by a hydraulic circuit. Linear motion imparted to the master piston is transferred to the two slave pistons via the hydraulic circuit. In turn, the two slave pistons may actuate one or more engine valves directly or through an intermediate valve bridge. A valve seating device may be provided to assist in seating the engine valves in embodiments where the valve actuation system is adapted to provide variable valve actuation.
