    • A method and system for wastewater treatment based on dissolved oxygen control by a fuzzy neural network, the method for wastewater treatment comprising the following steps: (1) measuring art inlet water flow rate, an ORP value in an anaerobic tank, a DO value in an aerobic tank, an inlet water COD value, and an actual outlet water COD value; (2) collecting the measured sample data and sending them via a computer to a COD fuzzy neural network predictive model, so as to establish an outlet water COD predicted value, (3) comparing the outlet COD predicted value with the outlet water COD set value, so as to obtain an error and an error change rate, and using them as two input variables to adjust a suitable dissolved oxygen concentration. Accordingly, the on-line prediction and real-time control of dissolved oxygen wastewater treatment are achieved. The accurate control of dissolved oxygen concentration by the present method for wastewater treatment can achieve a saving in energy consumption while ensuring stable running of the sewage treatment system, and the outlet water quality meets the national emission standards.

    • Systems and methods have been developed for reclaiming water contaminated with the expected range of contaminants typically associated with produced water, including water contaminated with slick water, methanol and boron. The system includes anaerobically digesting the contaminated water, followed by aerating the water to enhance biological digestion. After aeration, the water is separated using a flotation operation that effectively removes the spent friction reducing agents and allows the treated water to be reclaimed and reused as fracturing water, even though it retains levels of contaminants, including boron and methanol, that would prevent its discharge to the environment under existing standards. The treated water may further be treated by removing the methanol via biological digestion in a bioreactor, separating a majority of the contaminants from the water by reverse osmosis and removing the boron that passes through the reverse osmosis system with a boron-removing ion exchange resin.

    • In a wastewater treatment system, feed water is processed by anaerobic digestion, preferably in an anaerobic moving bed bioreactor (AnMBBR). Effluent from the AnMBBR passes through one or more solid-liquid separation units. A solids portions is treated by hydrolysis or suspended growth anaerobic digestion. A liquid portion of the hydrolysis or suspended growth anaerobic digestion effluent is returned to the AnMBBR or blended with effluent from the AnMBBR. The AnMBBR effluent may be treated with an aerobic moving bed bioreactor (MBBR) before the one or more solid-liquid separation steps. Membrane filtration may provide a first solid-liquid separation step. A thickened waste stream may be withdrawn from a recirculation loop flowing from the first solid-liquid separation unit to the MBBR. Optionally, a solids portion separated from the feed water upstream of the AnMBBR may also be treated by hydrolysis or suspended growth anaerobic digestion.
