    • A printing press, and an apparatus and a process for regenerating a printing plate can repetitiously reuse the same printing plate and shorten time for decomposition of image areas formed by a hydrophobic organic compound under irradiation with activating light to delete the image areas. A process for regenerating a printing plate including a photosensitive layer, formed on the surface of a substrate, having a photocatalyst exhibits hydrophilicity responsive to activating light having energy higher than photocatalyst's a band-gap energy, and one or more hydrophobic image areas, formed on the surface of the photosensitive layer and operable to hold ink, comprises the steps of: removing ink remaining on the printing plate; hydrophilizing the surface of the printing plate by irradiating with the activating light and by heating the printing plate to delete the hydrophobic image areas; and applying an organic compound onto the printing plate.

    • The image subject to be transferred is applied in preformatted form to at least two printing formes in the form of segment-like image data in a row and column arrangement, in such a way that a first portion of information from each segment of the image subject (information (a) with appropriate index features) is provided on a first printing forme, and a second portion of information from the corresponding segment of the image subject (information (b) with appropriate index features) is provided on a second printing forme. As a result of synchronous rolling of the printing-forme cylinders, the portions of information are assembled to form complete information ( with the respectively combined index features) for each segment of the image subject on the printed page. For each printing-forme cylinder revolution, the index features for each segment of the image subject (information ) are recombined step by step in the manner of a permutation, so that each printed segment constitutes a unique print.

    • The present invention relates to a method for producing an imaged and reimageable printing plate for multicolored printing using the digital imaging technique. There is provided a method for producing imaged and reimageable printing plates, which ensures the register accuracy of a multicolored printing without great expense and with which reimageable printing plates can be produced with little economic cost, especially for large formats. Printing plates in a printing press, which have concluded their printing tasks, are removed from the printing form cylinders, passed on to a device which neutralizes them, and the neutralized printing plates are coated, the coated printing plates are mounted once again on the printing form cylinders and the printing plates are digitally imaged in the printing press and developed.

    • The invention relates to a process for creating an image carrying printing form on a printing form cylinder in a printing press. Task of the invention is to realize a process for creating an erasable printing form on a printing form cylinder in a printing press with low expenditures and high life time. The task is solved according the invention by the printing cylinder having a semiconductor surface, the semiconductor surface being image carrying polarized, coated with toner on the image carrying areas and the toner compacted with printing form cylinder. The so created printing form is used for printing. The toner compacted with the printing form cylinder is removed by a laser after printing.

    • This invention discloses a lithographic plate comprising on a roughened substrate a substantially conformal radiation-sensitive layer. The radiation-sensitive layer can be a photo hardenable or photo solubilizable layer, or can be a laser ablatable layer. The radiation-sensitive layer is substantially conformally coated on the roughened substrate surface in a way so that the surface of the radiation-sensitive layer has peaks and valleys substantially corresponding to the major peaks and valleys of the substrate microscopic surface. The lithographic plate of such a configuration can provide no or low tackiness and excellent block resistance, while allowing excellent press durability. For on-press developable lithographic plate, such a plate configuration also allows excellent on-press developability.
