摘要： Disclosed herein is a method for producing a part comprising at least one layer of fiber-reinforced composite material. Said method encompasses at least the following steps: a) the at least one layer of polymerizable fiber-reinforced composite material is arranged in a shape that has a base and a plurality of elevations; b) at least one mold is placed so as to be in contact with at least one elevation, said mold having a microwave-sensitive material at least on one contact surface towards the at least one elevation; c) the at least one elevation is polymerized by irradiating the at least one mold with microwaves. The mold used has a stable three-dimensional shape and has a contact surface for the part. At least the contact surface is made of microwave-sensitive material.

摘要： A method for thermally processing a minimally absorbing thin film in a selective manner is disclosed. Two closely spaced absorbing traces are patterned in thermal contact with the thin film. A pulsed radiant source is used to heat the two absorbing traces, and the thin film is thermally processed via conduction between the two absorbing traces. This method can be utilized to fabricate a thin film transistor (TFT) in which the thin film is a semiconductor and the absorbers are the source and the drain of the TFT.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a fiber-reinforced thermoset composite includes pulling a first portion of a continuous material comprised of reinforcement fibers which are impregnated with a heat curable thermosetting resin through a die. The first portion in the die is subjected to a field of electromagnetic microwaves to heat the first portion to at least a curing temperature of the thermosetting resin. A second portion of the continuous material is pulled through the die. The field of electromagnetic microwaves is reduced in the die such that the second portion is not heated to the curing temperature.

The device includes an admission arrangement to expose the preforms, for the forming thereof, to a free-flowing medium, and stretching rods to extend the preforms in the longitudinal direction thereof. The device includes a transport arrangement which transports the blowing stations with the preforms along a first predefined transport path, and a control arrangement which controls movement of the stretching rods and exposure of the preforms to the freeflowing medium so that predefined sub-steps of the forming process are carried out during transport of the preforms along the first path. Sub-steps of the forming process can be carried out irrespective of geometric position of the preforms along the first path, and an output rate of the device can thus be changed.

Microwaves and pressure are applied through the cavity to the at least partially cured EVA item and the less than cured rubber item for a predetermined amount of time to cause the affixing of the portions forming the bi-component member.

摘要： A method for forming a composite structure, using a mandrel that is later removed from the composite structure, involves production of a mandrel by depositing a particulate mixture, including an aggregate and a binder, into a mold and removing the mandrel from the mold. The mandrel may be treated while still in the mold by heating, curing with an agent, microwave energy, or by some combination thereof. Once finished, the mandrel can be used in manufacturing polymer and/or composite components. The mandrel can also be include materials that can be easily removed from the finished composite structure by water, shakeout, chemically dissolving, or by some combination thereof.
