The apparatus includes a lower socket with a longitudinal bore therethrough, a radial compression member disposed in the longitudinal bore of the lower socket, and a shaft disposed on a first end of the radial compression member. The radial compression member includes an internal surface defining a concavity that faces a longitudinal axis of the lower socket. The method includes compressing the radial compression member in a radial direction toward a longitudinal axis of the spark plug terminal, thereby decreasing an outer dimension of the radial compression member in the radial direction.

摘要： An auxiliary tool for assembling and disassembling a spark plug is used to assist the assembling and disassembling operation of the spark plug of a vehicle. The auxiliary tool comprises a spark plug sleeve, a flexible extender, and a rotating end portion. The spark plug sleeve is used to cover and rotate the spark plug. The flexible extender has flexibility and one end thereof is fixed on the spark plug sleeve. The rotating end portion is disposed on the other end of the flexible extender and detachably connected with a handle. In operation, the spark plug is firstly loosened by a conventional wrench, and the auxiliary tool then rotates the spark plug. The auxiliary tool is not limited by the limited engine space, so that the operational convenience of rotation operation can be increased and the operational time of assembling and disassembling the spark plug can be shortened.

摘要： A tool for the installation and removal of an elongated member such as a spark plug, with threads extending from an end through at least a part of the length of the member, takes the form of a tube, open at both ends, made of stiffly resilient expansible material, and a liner in the tube, fixed against movement relative to the tube. The liner is made of a compressible resilient material and has an axially extending passage, opening at both ends of the tube. The passage is defined by a cylindrical wall of the compressibly resilient material and is of a transverse cross-sectional size to permit insertion of the elongated member against the compressive bias of the liner, but to grip the elongated member when it is inserted to inhibit relative rotary motion of the elongated member and tube. The material of which the tube is made is sufficiently resilient to expand when the elongated member is forced into the liner passage, but stiff enough to maintain the passage substantially straight.

摘要： A tool is provided for loosening or tightening a spark plug while interposing a gasket and a pressure sensor between the spark plug and a cylinder head. The tool consists of concentric, relatively rotatable inner and outer cylinders. The inner cylinder is engageable with the spark plug for rotation together therewith and for loosening or tightening the same. The outer cylinder is lockingly engageable with a cylinder head by means of an axial projection of the outer cylinder and a groove of the cylinder head. The outer cylinder is further lockingly engageable with the gasket by means of a locking leg of the outer cylinder and a peripheral cut of the gasket. The gasket is thus lockingly engageable with the cylinder head by way of the outer cylinder for preventing the pressure sensor from rotating relative to the cylinder head when the spark plug is loosened or tightened.
