    • A work support includes a mounting plate and a mechanical lock coupled to the mounting plate. The mechanical lock includes a base coupled to the mounting plate and a support pin. The support pin is movably coupled to the base. As such, the support pin can move relative to the base. The work support further includes a locking collar at least partly disposed inside the base. The locking collar surrounds the support pin and includes a first collar portion disposed around the support pin. The first collar portion has an outer tapered surface facing away from the support pin. The locking collar further includes a second collar portion disposed around the support pin. The second collar portion has an inner tapered surface facing toward the support pin and can move relative to the first collar between an unlocked position and a locked position.

    • A support device includes a supporting portion touching and resisting on workpieces, a holding portion and a driving portion. The supporting portion elastically connects with the holding portion to adjust a relative position with the holding portion according to size of the workpieces.     • An adjustable locator includes a locator element for contact with a workpiece supported on a fixture. The locator comprises a support element in which a ramp element is slidable. The ramp element has a ramp surface which is contacted by a plunger which carries the locator element. Displacement of the ramp element causes displacement of the plunger to adjust the position of the locator element with respect to the support element. A ratchet mechanism permits displacement of the ramp element in one direction, but prevents such movement in the opposite direction. The adjustable locator can be used in a workpiece fixture to achieve an optimum orientation of a workpiece prior to machining.

    • The abutment of the rod to the work piece is accomplished in a stable manner by providing an air passage in the inside of the work support for supplying pressurized air for detecting the abutment between the rod and the work piece. Work piece is supported by the tip of rod abutting work piece while ejecting pressurized air from detection nozzle, and locks rod by elastically deforming sleeve to reduce its diameter after detecting the abutment of rod by a pressure sensor and control unit.

    • A spring-biased plunger, preferably if not always assisted by fixed jacks, supports a workpiece to be mechanically operated on forcibly by a metalworking or like machine. The plunger is spring-urged upwardly, then supported in an upwardly adjusted position by clamping elements of a clamp device which are actuated toward one another in opposite horizontal directions by manually operated screw means.
