In response to the information received through the management frame, one or more stations (STA) can select any one of the operating channels for transmitting of frames in A-BFT communication or other access periods in the Beacon Interval.

摘要： A method and apparatus for authenticating a directional multi gigabit device for communication in an IEEE 802.11-compliant wireless network are provided. Network association and authentication can be performed in parallel, with association and authentication information elements included in common frames. Authentication information elements are included in at least one and potentially a sequence of management frames transmitted between an access point of the wireless network and the device. The authentication information elements are thereby exchanged between the access point and the device. The exchanged authentication information elements are used to establish that both the access point and the device possess a common cryptographic key. The exchanged management frames can also facilitate network association. Authentication information elements can also be included in non-management frames. A format for the authentication information elements is presented.

摘要： Methods and devices for receiving or transmitting a wireless packet are described. A wireless packet includes a short training field (STF) and a channel estimation field (CEF). The receiver determines whether the received STF matches an assigned STF assigned for a target link, by performing cross-correlation between the STF and a component sequence from a set of at least four different component sequences which are pairs of Golay sequences. The cross-correlation output is compared with an expected output. When the received STF matches the assigned STF, the wireless packet is considered a target packet. A channel estimation is performed using a cross-correlation of the received CEF with an assigned CEF assigned for the target link. The assigned CEF is from a set of two or more CEFs, where each CEF is formed using the set of component sequences, and the CEFs are pairwise zero-correlation zone (ZCZ) sequences.

摘要： Systems and methods for detecting unused channels in a cognitive radio system are described. In one method, data is communicated on a particular channel for a secondary receiver. In addition, a set of channels is iteratively scanned by collecting samples for each channel and for each iteration of the scanning. Here, iterations of the scanning progressively removes channels from the set of channels based on the collected samples and updates states of the channels in the set based on the collected samples to obtain a set of candidate channels. In response to detecting a pre-determined condition, communications on the particular channel are precluded and at least one of the candidate channels is evaluated by collecting additional samples on each of the channels. Further, at least one of the candidate channels is selected based on the evaluation for utilization by the one or more secondary receivers for data communication.
