    • An adjustable control pedal for a motor vehicle includes a pivotable upper pedal arm having a slot formed therein, a link pivotable relative to the upper pedal arm, and a lower pedal arm having an upper end pivotably connected to the link and a lower end carrying a pedal. A nut is pivotally connected to the link such that the link pivots relative to the upper pedal arm upon movement of the nut along a drive screw.     • An adjustable control pedal for a motor vehicle includes a first member having a slot formed therein, a pin laterally extending into the slot and having an abutment facing the first member on a side of the first member opposite the second member, and a second member rigidly secured to the pin and movable relative to the first member along the slot. A plastic bushing encircles the pin and extends into the slot. The bushing has a flange engaging the first member on a side of the first member opposite the second member. A plastic washer encircles the pin and is located between the first and second members. A spring washer such as a wave or Belleville washer is located between the abutment and the flange and resiliently biases the second member relative to the first member to resist relative lateral movement between the first and second members to reduce lash therebetween. The pin can be either a guide pin or a drive pin of the control pedal. Various embodiments are disclosed wherein the first and second members are upper and lower pedal arms respectively and are a mounting bracket and an upper pedal arm respectively.

    • A method for determining the volume a substance having a density level in vertical storage tanks. This method uses a strain gauge that is attached to the exterior of the side wall of a tank. As the volume of the substance fluctuates in the tank, the walls are acted upon by the weight of the substance. The greater the volume of a substance, the greater the force pushing on the tank walls and vice-versa. This force causes the walls to deform slightly. This deformation can be measured by the strain gauge mounted on the tank wall. Because this deformation is directly related to the volume of the substance being stored in the tank, the deformation read by the strain gauge can be translated into its volume by calibrating the gauge measurements with known volumes in the tank.

    • A processor is to comprise a central processing unit (CPU), an address generation unit (AGU), an index generation unit and a translation look-aside buffer (TLB). The CPU of the processor is to generate signal to retrieve instructions from a memory. The AGU is to generate a final linear address and an initial linear address after receiving at least three input source values. An index generation unit coupled to the AGU is to generate a set-index value using the bits of at least the three input source values or the bits of the initial linear address even before the bits of the initial linear address are adjusted for carry. A TLB is to generate a physical address using the final linear address and an entry indexed by the set-index value.
