The valve is disposed between one of two intake runners delivering air to the intake port of an engine cylinder and includes a base member having an opening for delivery of air therethrough. When moved, in opposite longitudinal directions, the edges of the openings in the valve members move towards one another to terminate registry of the openings with the opening in the valve body.
