    • A cryopump control apparatus controls an evacuation process of a cryopump that includes a cryopanel which cools and thus condenses or adsorbs gas, and a pump housing which contains the cryopanel. The cryopump control apparatus includes a pressure control unit and a vacuum retention evaluation unit. The pressure control unit stops pumping when detecting that a pressure in the pump housing decreases to a reference pressure. The vacuum retention evaluation unit determines whether a difference between pressure values in the pump housing measured at first measurement time and at second measurement time is within an allowable range of pressure change. The first measurement time is determined by adding correction time relating to an operating delay of pumping to a time point when the pressure in the pump housing is detected to be decreased to the reference pressure.

    • A voice-operated remote control system which transmits a remote control signal in response to a voice command has a detector for detecting whether a voice command is received or not. A detected signal from the detector is applied to a power supply control circuit. When there is no voice command received as detected by the detector, the power supply control circuit cuts off electric energy supplied to a speech recognition circuit which consumes the largest amount of electric energy in the voice-operated remote control system. The voice-operated remote control system also has a continuous operation instructing unit which produces an instruction signal that instructs a repetition command to cause a remotely controlled device to repeat an operation. The instruction signal is supplied to a continuous operation control unit which adds the repetition command to the remote control signal that is transmitted to the remotely controlled device.

    • There is provided a coal-fired power generating system that, in addition to recovering latent heat of condensation and the like from a dry exhaust gas of a drying device, which is for predrying coal, precludes a large variation, from a design value, of the amount of steam flowing at a final stage of a steam turbine.The coal-fired power generating system includes an indirect-heating dryer 1 including a heating medium passage inside its casing, a coal-fired boiler 3 for combusting coal to generate steam, and a steam turbine 6 for generating power with the steam from the boiler 3. The dryer dries the coal fed into the casing by performing indirect heating with steam fed to the heating medium passage. The coal-fired power generating system heats boiler supply water for the coal-fired boiler 3 with extracted steam extracted from the steam turbine 6. The coal-fired power generating system also includes a line for using part of the extracted steam as heated steam for the indirect-heating dryer 1, a steam condenser 5 for the steam turbine 6, a wet scrubber 11 provided on a path of the dry exhaust gas from the indirect-heating dryer 1, heat recovery heat exchangers 22 and 24 for performing heat exchanging between circulating water of the wet scrubber 11 and condensate of the steam condenser 5.
