    • The present invention suppresses the spreading by wetting of an orientation film material in a liquid form toward a sealing agent applied region positioned on an outer periphery of a display region in forming an orientation film thus ensuring the uniformity of a film thickness in the display region. A pair of substrates includes orientation films on surfaces thereof which face opposing substrates. Out of the pair of substrates, the substrate on which the signal lines are formed, on a side thereof which is disposed between a region on which the sealing material is arranged and the display region and along which the signal lines extend to the outside of the sealing material from the display region, includes a first conductive layer, a second conductive layer and an insulation layer which is interposed between the first and second conductive layers between the orientation film and the substrate, the insulation layer extends in the direction at least along an outer periphery of the display region, and includes groove portion having a recessed groove which opens on the orientation film side, the first conductive layer is formed along a shape of the recessed groove, and the signal lines are formed in a state that the signal lines go around the recessed groove.

    • The present invention prevents a TFT liquid crystal display device from deteriorating its image quality due to the insufficiency of voltage written through TFTs. There is disclosed a display device that includes a display panel in which the plural pixel electrodes are positioned between two neighboring video signal lines and arranged in the extending direction of the video signal lines, a pixel electrode connected to one of the two neighboring video signal lines through a TFT and a pixel electrode connected to the other video signal line through a TFT being alternately arranged; and a correction circuit that compares the tone of video data to be written into one of the plural pixel electrodes against the tone of video data to be written into a preceding pixel electrode that is connected through a TFT to the video signal line, to which the one of the plural pixel electrodes is also connected through a TFT, and placed one position toward a signal input end of the video signal line as compared to the one of the plural pixel electrodes, and corrects the video data to be written into the one of the plural pixel electrodes.

    • The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device which can enhance the accuracy in feeding back a common potential applied to common voltage supply lines. A display panel includes a common bus line electrically connected to common electrodes and formed annularly on a periphery of the display region, a common sensing line for feeding back a voltage of the common bus line to a control printed circuit board, a scanning-signal-drive-circuit-use power source line for supplying electricity for driving a scanning signal drive circuit, and a common-voltage-supply-use line for supplying a common voltage to the common bus line. The common-voltage-supply-use line, the common sensing line and the scanning-signal-drive-circuit-use power source line are formed along one side of the display panel to which at least the scanning signal drive circuit is connected. The common sensing line is formed between the common-voltage-supply-use line and the scanning-signal-drive-circuit-use power source line on one side of the display panel.

    • In first-time authentication, non-enciphered authentication information (user ID, password), which is provided from a user, is transmitted from a portable telephone (service using device) 10 to a server (service providing device) 20. The server 20 performs authentication for the non-enciphered authentication information thus received from the portable telephone 10. If the authentication is successful, the server 20 enciphers the authentication information, and sends the enciphered authentication information back to the portable telephone 10. The portable telephone 10 stores therein the enciphered authentication information thus received from the server 20. To request the same server 20 to provide a service next time or later, the thus stored enciphered authentication information is transmitted from the portable telephone 10 to the server 20. The server 20 receives and deciphers the enciphered authentication information. Then, the server 20 performs authentication for the thus deciphered authentication information. With this arrangement, input operation of the authentication information by the use is reduced and security of the authentication information is improved in a service providing system including a service using device and a service providing device that provides a service to the service using device.
