摘要： JPEG encoded data are entropy-decoded to quantized DCT coefficients which are sent to a prediction tap extraction circuit (41) and to a class tap extraction circuit (42). The prediction tap extraction circuit (41) and the class tap extraction circuit (42) extract what is needed from the quantized DCT coefficients to form prediction taps and class taps. A classification circuit (43) effects classification based on the class taps. A coefficient table storage unit (44) sends tap coefficients corresponding to the classes resulting from the classification to a sum of products circuit (45), which sum of products circuit (45) then effects linear predictive calculations, using the tap coefficients and the class taps, to generate decoded picture data.

摘要： An image processing apparatus includes a converter converting an interlace image including a first number of pixels into a first progressive image, an interpolator interpolating the first progressive image to generate a second progressive image including a second number of pixels, a classification unit classifying, in accordance with a feature of the second progressive image, into classes, subject pixels forming a third progressive image, which serves as a target image, including the second number of pixels and having a quality higher than the second progressive image, a storage unit storing a prediction coefficient for each of the classes obtained by conducting learning using a plurality of progressive images, each including the second number of pixels, and a computation unit performing computation using the second progressive image and the prediction coefficient for each of the classes to determine the third progressive image from the second progressive image.

摘要： An input digital image signal (SD signal) is converted into a high resolution digital video signal (HD signal). A considered pixel is categorized as a class corresponding to a one-dimensional, two-dimensional, or three-dimensional level distribution of a plurality of reference pixels of the SD signal. A predicted value of the considered pixel is generated by linear combination of values of a plurality of pixels of the SD signal adjacent to the considered pixel of the HD signal and predicted coefficients that have been learnt. In the learning process, predicted coefficients are determined by linear combination of the values of pixels of the SD signal and the predicted coefficients so that the sum of squares of the predicted value and the true value is minimized. Instead of the predicted coefficients, representative values may be determined for each class. In this case, the representative values are used as predicted values corresponding to the class of the input SD signal. Examples of the representative values are a base value of a block and a value normalized by dynamic range DR.

摘要： Apparatus and methods for image processing capable of generating evaluation index data for performing accurate and detailed evaluation of cultured cardiomyocytes are described. A motion detecting unit divides frame image data obtained by photographing the cultured cardiomyocytes for a predetermined time into blocks and obtains motion detection data in units of blocks per each frame period. A feature amount calculating unit calculates a feature amount for each block at the same position in a frame image using the motion detection data. A classification processing unit classifies each of the blocks into any one of a plurality of classification categories using the calculated feature amount. On the basis of the classification result, evaluation index data made of individual classification result data that represent correspondences between the blocks and the classification categories is generated.
