    • A cooling mechanism for a circuit board includes a board having electronic components disposed thereon, one or more heat radiation plates disposed on the board, a cooling fan for cooling the board and the electronic components disposed on the board by blowing air to at least one of the heat radiation plates, and a metal plate attached to one end of the board to ground the board, thereby preventing the leakage of electromagnetic radiation noises from the electronic components. Further, the metal plate includes a bent portion bent in L-shape along a lateral side of the board, and the cooling fan is so disposed at the inner side of the bent portion as to be perpendicular to the board. Furthermore, an air receiving surface of the heat radiation plate is so arranged as to be oblique to an axial blowing direction of the cooling fan.

    • An image forming apparatus is provided which is capable of preventing the heat radiated from a high-voltage power source board from raising the temperature around the high-voltage power source board to a high temperature. A cooling fan is disposed opposite to the side of the high-voltage power source board where electronic components are disposed, as well as substantially in parallel with the high-voltage power source board; the cooling fan blows air upon the high-voltage power source board; and a heat-radiating component disposed on the high-voltage power source board, such as a transistor and a transformer, is located one-sidedly near the cooling fan, so that they can be efficiently cooled.

    • In a digital output service of photographs, smooth operation of an additional recording service is aimed at by letting a user or an operator of a service provider easily understand the number of photographs addable to a storage medium. The free space size of a storage medium is detected each time new or additional recording therein is completed, and information regarding the free space size is indicated to a customer by being recorded on a recording medium corresponding to the storage medium, such as index print for the storage medium. On this occasion, the free space size is indicated as the number of films or exposures such as “6 25-exposure films” (6 (25 Exp)) or “160 exposures” (160) so that a user who is not familiar with expressions in bytes can readily understand it.

    • An image forming apparatus includes a reader for continuously and photoelectrically reading a plurality of original images and successively making the original images to digital image data. An image processor is further included for subjecting the digital image data to predetermined image processing to create display image data. A display then displays a plurality of the images of the display image data at the same time. An indicator allows selection of arbitrary images from the images displayed on the display and output of the selected arbitrary images as prints. Finally, a recording unit is included for receiving the output digital image data of the original images indicated by the indicator and outputting the output digital image data as the prints. With its arrangement, the image forming apparatus can simply and promptly carry out the job for selecting the necessary frames from one strip and realize high productivity at an excellent working efficiency.
