摘要： A method for transmitting data in a communication system using a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) matrix includes generating an LDPC codeword by encoding information data bits, interleaving the LDPC codeword, mapping the interleaved LDPC codeword to a modulation signal, and generating a mapped signal by mapping the LDPC codeword bits separately to a bit corresponding to a real part and a bit corresponding to an imaginary part of said modulation signal, among bits constituting the modulation signal, generating a modulation signal by high-order-modulating the mapped signal and Radio Frequency (RF)-processing the modulation signal, and transmitting the RF-processed signal via a transmission antenna.

摘要： An apparatus and method for coding a semi-systematic block low density parity check (LDPC) code in which an information word is received and coded into a codeword including the information word, a first parity, a second parity, and a third parity, based on one of a first parity check matrix and a second parity check matrix, depending on a size to be applied when generating the information word into a semi-systematic block LDPC code. A part having a degree being at least equal to a predetermined degree is punctured from the information word, generating the semi-systematic block LDPC code. The semi-systematic block LDPC code includes the information word, the part of which was punctured, the first parity, the second parity, and the third parity.

To encode a 3-bit information bit stream to a (n, 3) codeword with n code symbols, a simplex encoder generates a first-order Reed-Muller codeword with (P+1) code symbols from the input information bit stream for n>P, and punctures the first code symbol of the (P+1) first-order Reed-Muller code symbols to produce a (P, 3) simplex codeword. An interleaver permutates the P code symbols of the (P, 3) simplex codeword by columns according to a predetermined pattern. A repeater repeats the column-permutated (P, 3) simplex codeword until the number of repeated codes is n and outputs a (n, 3) codeword with the n repeated code symbols.
