    • A method for capturing an image of a machine having one or more disks is presented. The method comprises creating a snapshot of the machine, the snapshot including full machine encapsulation, querying the one or more disks on the machine to obtain information stored thereon, creating metadata able to access one or more files, one or more folders, and the application on the machine, and capturing the snapshot, the obtained information and the metadata in the image. The method may also comprise migrating the captured image and/or extracting one or more files and/or folders from the captured image on another machine. The migration can be between physical and physical, physical and virtual, physical and cloud, etc. The method may comprise capturing another image comprising the snapshot, the metadata and changed information different from the obtained information.

    • A method performed in a computer device having associated therewith a plurality of unstructured documents having words therein, the method involves accessing at least some of the plurality of unstructured documents, extracting a multiset of words, forming a matrix from the documents in which each word in the multiset is represented in a column and each document from which the words came is represented in a row, treating each document as a vector in a multidimensional Euclidean space, uniquely pairing the unique documents, measuring the similarity between the pairs as a cosine of the angle between vectors, comparing the cosines to a specified threshold to determine relatedness among the documents, and based upon the relatedness, when an input is received by the computer device representing a string of a threshold number of characters, the computer device will provide at least one word that would complete the character string.

    • A method and apparatus for establishing telephone connections to a called party which has been assigned a personalized number as well as a “plain old telephone service” (POTS) number. A caller dials directing information to indicate that a personalized number and not a POTS number is being supplied by the caller. A database system for serving a switch having intelligent network capabilities translates from that personalized number to the POTS number assigned to the called party. The public switched telephone network, using that POTS number, establishes a connection between the caller and the called party in accordance with the principles of the prior art. If the caller is not connected to a switch having intelligent network capabilities, the caller dials a directing code to access a switch having intelligent network capabilities and the latter switch accesses the database system to translate from the personalized number to the POTS number. Advantageously, any destination telephone can be assigned a personalized number and calls to that personalized number can charged to the caller. Advantageously, personalized numbers are much easier to remember than POTS numbers.
