    • A radiation image read-out apparatus comprises a device for irradiating stimulating rays to a stimulable phosphor sheet, on which a radiation image has been stored. The stimulating rays cause the stimulable phosphor sheet to emit light in proportion to the amount of energy stored thereon during its exposure to radiation. A first photoelectric conversion device photoelectrically detects the emitted light and generates an image signal representing the radiation image. A second photoelectric conversion device photoelectrically detects the stimulating rays, which have been reflected from the stimulable phosphor sheet, and thereby generates a monitor signal. From the monitor signal, a detection device detects location of a pattern caused to occur in the radiation image, which is represented by the image signal, by dust clinging to the stimulable phosphor sheet.

    • An image read-out and recording apparatus comprises a device for splitting a light beam into a read-out beam and a recording beam, a common light deflector for deflecting the read-out beam and the recording beam, and a read-out sub-scanning device for moving an image original exposed to the deflected read-out beam with respect to the light deflector at an angle with respect to a direction of main scanning effected by deflection. A light detection system is provided for photoelectrically detecting light reflected by the image original, light passing through the image original, or light emitted by the image original when the image original is exposed to the read-out beam, and generating image signals representing an image recorded on the image original. The apparatus also comprises a modulator for modulating the recording beam with the image signals, and a recording sub-scanning device for moving a photosensitive material exposed to the deflected recording beam with respect to the light deflector at an angle with respect to the main scanning direction. A synchronizing signal representing a scanning position of the read-out beam on the image original with respect to the main scanning direction is provided by detecting an additional beam formed by splitting the deflected read-out beam.

    • A radiation image information readout device has a sheet fixedly supported on the concave surface of a semicylindrical support is scanned in a main scanning direction by a light beam which is emitted from a light source and deflected by a main scanning light deflector, and is also scanned by the light beam in a sub-scanning direction normal to the main scanning direction by angularly moving the light source and the main scanning light deflector. The light source and the main scanning light deflector are angularly moved about an axis of curvature of the semicylindrical support. The light source and the main scanning light deflector are fixedly mounted in a cylindrical member which is angularly driven about its own axis by a motor coupled to one axial end thereof. A readout device is angularly movable with the light source and the main scanning light deflector for reading out the radiation image information from the recording sheet while the recording sheet is scanned by the light beam in the main and sub-scanning directions.
