    • An object is to prevent thermal fatigue, resulting from variations in temperature interfaces, of piping having a fluid-mixing region where fluids of different temperatures are mixed. Piping 1 having a fluid-mixing region M includes a reducer 5 including an end portion 5e disposed substantially on a central axis of a main pipe 2. Low-temperature water flows through the reducer 5 at a lower velocity than high-temperature water flowing outside the end portion 5e. The low-temperature water and the high-temperature water have different temperatures. The low-temperature water and the high-temperature water are mixed in the fluid-mixing region M downstream of the reducer 5. The reducer 5 has a weld line 5f formed to connect the end portion 5e and an elbow portion 5d together. The distance between the weld line 5f and a downstream end 5a is equal to or larger than the inner diameter D of the main pipe 2.

    • A vehicle height adjusting apparatus includes air spring portion, an air supply source, a switching valve causing a total air volume of the air spring portion to be constituted by only a main air chamber and by a sum of the main air chamber and a sub air chamber, an auxiliary valve, operating state determining portion for determining an operating state of the vehicle, and controlling portion for controlling the adjusting valve, the switching valve and the auxiliary valve. The controlling portion controls the adjusting valve and the switching valve to shift to closed positions so as to close the first and second passages, respectively, and controls the auxiliary valve to shift to an open position so as to open the third passage and to discharge air in the sub air chamber by a predetermined amount through the air supply source and then controlling the auxiliary valve to shift to a closed position so as to close the third passage in a case that the operating state determining means determines that the vehicle is in one of the transition state and the stopped state.

    • A hemostatic material insertion device is provided for simplifying hemostasis of the puncture wound in a blood vessel. The device comprises a cartridge charged with hemostatic material, a hollow sheath which holds the cartridge, an ejecting piston portion which forms one unit with the sheath at the rear end of the sheath and is used for pushing out the hemostatic material charged in the cartridge, a guide knob to slide the cartridge inside the hollow sheath and a stopping device affixed to the front end of said hollow sheath. Further, methods of using a hemostatic material insertion device are provided.
