    • A method and apparatus for calculating a location of a User Equipment (UE) that is roaming, the method including receiving, by a Home Location Platform (HLP), a location request message from the UE for starting a positioning session with the UE, wherein the location request message includes specific identifier information of an area in which the UE is located, and positioning capability information including a positioning scheme supported by the UE, determining that the HLP calculated a position estimate, transmitting a request for an approximate coordinate information to a Visiting Location Platform (VLP), receiving the approximate coordinate information from the VLP, exchanging location information with the UE, and calculating a position of the UE using the exchanged location information. According to such a method, it is possible to efficiently perform the positioning of the UE, regardless of the location of the UE, thereby improving the quality of the positioning service.

    • A method provides information of a client making a first response to a network-initiated push-to-talk-over-cellular (PoC) group session when the network-initiated PoC group session is established. When it is determined that an event meeting session establishment criteria occurs at a server managing a session, the session management server sends an INVITE message to at least one client to participate in the session to be established. A response signal to the INVITE message is received from the at least one client. A message containing information of the client making the first response is sent to the client making a request to establish the session. Thus, a user is informed of identification information of an initial caller and information of a requested conference, thereby enabling a PoC group call to be smoothly performed.

    • An apparatus and method for locating mobile terminals is disclosed. A base station transmits a radio signal to mobile terminals located in a specific area, and generates auxiliary location information for locating mobile terminals from a radio signal received from the terminals. A radio network controller receives the auxiliary location information of the terminals from the base station, and calculates locations of the terminals using the auxiliary location information. A cell broadcaster broadcasts information including assisted GPS information and an auxiliary location information request signal to the terminals located in the area. A core network manages information of mobile terminals connected to a network, and provides an interface with a location service client. This allows location of all of the terminals located in the specific area, irrespective of whether the provision of their location information is permitted, which facilitates rescue when a disaster or calamity occurs in the specific area.

    • A method and system for guaranteeing a seamless session when replacing a PoC terminal in a PoC system is provided, in which a currently busy PoC client can be replaced in an existing busy PoC session using a PoC compliant client capable of connecting the PoC session, thereby preventing a transmitted media stream of the running PoC session from being lost when the PoC client is replaced. The method includes transmitting, by an arbitrary PoC user, a message for replacing a terminal from a user terminal to a session management server while maintaining the session; receiving, by the session management server, the replacement request message, and transmitting an INVITE message to a terminal to be replaced, or a target terminal; and receiving, by the target terminal, the INVITE message, and media through an existing session. In a situation where there is a need to replace the PoC terminal according to change of the media for the PoC call, request of mobility, etc. by the PoC user, the user is allowed to make a continuous call. Thus, it is possible to improve QoE of the user and expand the markets for the PoC terminal and its services.
