    • There are provided measures for resource allocation control. Such measures may exemplarily include allocating resources based on a resource allocation assignment including at least an assignment of a resource allocation amount of granted resources for transmission to logical channels, for which data is available for transmission, according to a priority and a prioritized bit rate of each logical channel, and calculating a metric indicative of a result of the resource allocation in terms of at least one of requirements of the prioritized bit rates of the logical channels and the available data of the logical channels. Such measures may also exemplarily include receiving, from at least one device, a metric indicative of a result of resource allocation at said at least one device in terms of at least one of requirements of prioritized bit rates and available transmission data of logical channels, evaluating the received at least one metric with respect to a resource allocation assignment, and modifying the resource allocation assignment based on a result of the evaluation.

    • There is provided a mechanism for reporting buffer status information to a communication network control element when transmission via both a licensed and an unlicensed spectrum is conducted and offloading of traffic is executed. After an offloading value indicating the amount of traffic which can be offloaded from a transmission over a licensed spectrum to a transmission over an unlicensed spectrum is estimated, the UE determines a buffer size of at least one transmission buffer used in a transmission over the licensed spectrum and the unlicensed spectrum. Then, buffer status information is sent to the eNB wherein the estimated offloading value is considered. The eNB can then allocate resources for the transmission over the licensed band while benefits by the offloading to the unlicensed band are considered in the resource allocation.

    • A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to efficiently establish communications regardless of the radio resource control (RRC) state of the device that issues the discovery signal. In regards to a method, a cell identification and/or tracking area code is associated with a discovery signal. Thereafter, the method causes a discovery signal to be transmitted to discover another device with which to establish communications. The method also receives a paging signal in response to the discovery signal and causes communications to be established in response to the paging signal. By associating a cell identification and/or a tracking area code with at least part of the discovery signal, the paging signals may be focused in the cell and/or tracking area in which the device that issued the discovery signal is located, even when the device is in an RRC Idle state.
