摘要： A thermally conductive stripline RF transmission cable has a flat inner conductor surrounded by a dielectric layer that is surrounded by an outer conductor. The dielectric layer may include a base polymer and a thermally conductive material to increase a thermal conductivity of the cable. A thermal conductivity of the dielectric layer may be increased between a midsection of the inner conductor and the outer conductor. A jacket may surround the outer conductor, the jacket including a base polymer and a thermally conductive material. Additional conductors may be applied within the dielectric layer and/or in the jacket, proximate the outer conductor.

摘要： A locating fixture system is provided for aligning a multi-conductor flat electrical cable with an elongated electrical connector having a plurality of terminals for termination to the conductors of the cable. A fixture base defines a cable platform for supporting the multi-conductor flat electrical cable. A receptacle in the base receives the elongated electrical connector generally transversely of the cable, with the terminals projecting above the cable platform for termination to the conductors of the cable. A locating pin is provided on the base within the receptacle for insertion into a locating hole in the connector intermediate opposite ends of the connector for properly locating the connector transversely of the cable.

摘要： An edge connector is provided for a printed circuit board having a mating edge and a plurality of contact pads adjacent the edge. The connector includes an elongated dielectric housing having a board-receiving slot for receiving the mating edge of the printed circuit board. A plurality of spring contact elements are mounted in the housing along at least one side of the slot. The spring contact elements have spring contact portions extending into the slot for contacting respective ones of the contact pads on the printed circuit board. A surface on the housing at the one side of the slot defines a datum plane beyond which the spring contact portion of at least one of the spring contact elements extends into the slot. A biasing spring on the housing biases the printed circuit board against the surface, thereby deflecting the spring contact portion of the at least one spring contact element a predetermined amount.

摘要： In the exemplary embodiment of the invention, the miniature coaxial contact terminates a coaxial cable which includes a signal wire, an insulating jacket surrounding the signal wire, ground means surrounding the insulating jacket and an outer insulating sheath surrounding the ground means. The contact includes a signal pin having a contact end for mating with an appropriate receptacle contact and a terminating end having a coined portion for termination to the signal wire. Insulator means is provided about at least a portion of the signal pin. A grounding shield tube is provided about the insulator means. The tube has an inner surface for termination to the ground means of the cable.

The connector includes a housing having a retaining post that is inserted into an aperture of the printed circuit board to retain the connector to the printed circuit board. The retaining post is tubular having an axial slot extending through the sidewall thereof so as to be resilient and durable. Further, each of the contacts disposed within the connector housing includes a stabilizing arm that opposes the forces created by the insertion of the printed circuit card into the connector housing so as to distribute the opposing forces between the stabilizing arm and the base of the contact. Contacts of alternating sizes and having beams of different angles with the base are employed in the connector. However the contacts have equal path lengths between the printed circuit board and the top of the connector housing through the respective contacts.

摘要： A low insertion force mating electrical contact structure includes a pair of hermaphroditic terminals. Each hermaphroditic terminal is provided with dual cantilevered contact beams disposed in spaced parallel relationship and extending from a common base. The terminals are stamped from flat metallic material to provide each beam with a plurality of opposite but symmetrical bends relative to its initial central plane. The bends define rear and front contact surfaces on each beam and with rear and front cam surfaces leading into the respective contact surfaces. Identical hermaphroditic terminals as described can be mated with low insertion forces initially achieved by sliding cam interaction between the respective rear and front cam surfaces of two such terminals. The normal forces and deflection gradually increase as the terminals approach their fully mated condition. The rear and front contact surfaces move into sliding contacting relationship with desirably high normal forces at four distinct points of contact to achieve a high redundancy.
