摘要： A method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving a Random Access Channel (RACH) signal in a communication system. A User Equipment (UE) selects one of Contention Resolution (CR) channels allocated for collision detection, and transmits the selected CR channel and a connection request message to an Evolved Node B (E-NB), and receives a response signal from the E-NB. The UE transmits the RACH signal, if a collision indicator is included in the response signal. The E-NB receives from each of UEs a connection request message and a CR channel, decodes the connection request message, and detects a collision between the UEs using the CR channel. The E-NB generates a response signal to the connection request message according to the decoding result, generates a collision indicator according to the collision detection result, and transmits to the UEs at least one of the generated response signal, the generated collision indicator, and a unique ID of a corresponding UE.

摘要： A method for selecting a relay mode depending on channel status of relay links in a multihop relay broadband wireless communication system and a Relay Station (RS) apparatus for supporting the method. When signals are received from a Base Station (BS) and a Mobile Station (MS), channel status values (e.g., eigenvalue, mutual information, and probability error) of relay links (BS-RS link and RS-MS link) are estimated using the received signals. The estimated channel status values are compared with a preset reference value. According to a result of the comparison, the relay mode for relaying the received signals is selected. Accordingly, the reliability of the relayed signal can be enhanced and the capacity of the signal link can be increased.

摘要： Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ) apparatus and method of a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO system are provided. The ARQ method includes decoding, when one or more packets are received, the received packets and trying to detect the decoded packets; and storing, when error is detected from the packets, the corresponding error packet, requesting a transmitter to retransmit N-ary packets from which the error is detected and to transmit (M-N)-ary new packets when the number of the error packets N is smaller than the total number of the transmitted packets M. Accordingly, the error rate of the retransmitted data can be minimized, the number of retransmissions can be decreased, and the overall data transmission rate can be raised.

Upon receipt of a UL signal from a mobile station (MS), it is determined if there is an error in the received UL signal. If there is an error in the received UL signal, the channel condition for a relay station (RS) is compared with the channel condition for the MS. If the channel condition for the RS is better than the channel condition for the MS, it is determined if the RS knows the erroneously received UL signal. If the RS knows the erroneously received UL signal, the RS is requested to retransmit the erroneously received UL signal.

摘要： In multicarrier communication system using N subcarriers, in which a transmitter communicates with K receivers, the transmitter determines a channel quality information (CQI) feedback quantity indicative of the number of subcarriers for which CQIs will be fed back among the N subcarriers, for the K receivers, and transmits the CQI feedback quantity to the K receivers. Thereafter, upon receiving CQIs corresponding to the determined CQI feedback quantity, being fed back from the K receivers, the transmitter allocates subcarriers for which there are CQIs being fed back from at least one receiver among the K receivers among the N subcarriers, to any one receiver among the receivers that have fed back CQIs according to a first scheme, thereby guaranteeing the maximum throughput and the maximum fairness.
