摘要： A dispensing pump having no check valves includes upper and lower mechanically-joined pistons which are moveable together through respective upper and lower cylinders. As the pistons are moved in one direction toward a rest position the cylinders are initially pressure-isolated and the upper piston aspirates spray liquid into the upper cylinder while the lower piston aspirates air into the lower cylinder. Before reaching the rest position the pistons unblock flow communication between the cylinders to permit liquid from the upper cylinder to fall into the lower cylinder. During movement of the pistons in the opposite direction the cylinders are again pressure-isolated and the lower piston forces liquid from the lower cylinder through a spray outlet under high pressure.

摘要： A transportation threat detection system includes a communication module that receives an inertial event report from a reporting vehicle. The report includes (i) an indication of an inertial event from an inertial sensor at the reporting vehicle, and (ii) an indication of a geographic location associated with the event. The system also includes a fusion processor that associates the inertial event report with a potential transportation threat, consistent with the inertial event report and at the geographic location. The fusion processor generates a measure of support for the transportation threat potentially existing at the geographic location based on a participation rate generated using any additional inertial event reports received from respective additional reporting vehicles. The system also includes a reporting interface that renders output indicative of the potential transportation threat, wherein the output is made as a function of the generated measure of support.

摘要： In an internal-combustion engine exhaust gas system, a storage tank stores the reducing agent, a supply pipe connects the storage tank to a metering unit which introduces the reducing agent into the exhaust gas system. A pump mechanism within the supply pipe conveys the reducing agent. A pressure sensor detects the pressure in the supply pipe downstream of the pump, and a pressure-releasing device has a return pipe connected to the storage tank and comes off the supply pipe. A first valve system is arranged in the supply pipe. A section of the return pipe is located at a higher level than the return pipe to form a storage volume for air present in the supply pipe. A second valve system is arranged in the supply pipe to create, when the second valve system is closed, a storage volume for pressurized reducing agent by way of this pipe branch.
