    • Circuits, methods, and apparatus that provide connector receptacles having a smaller size. One example provides this smaller size by decreasing the depth of the connector receptacle. Contacts in the connector receptacle may be protected from damage due to improper insertion of a second electronic device or connection to a second electronic device. This protection may be achieved in various ways. In some examples, one or more components or one or more contacts may be used to block the improper insertion of a second electronic device or connection to a second electronic device. In other examples, one or more contacts may avoid damage by being located outside of an insertion path until a second electronic device or connection to a second electronic device is inserted. In other examples, instead of blocking or avoiding an improper insertion, the contacts may avoid damage by bending out of the way.

    • Spring-loaded contacts having an improved reliability. One example may provide spring-loaded contacts having a reduced likelihood of entanglement between a spring and a plunger. For example, a piston may be placed between a plunger and a spring. The piston may have a head portion that is wider than the diameter of the spring and located between the spring and the plunger to isolate the spring and the plunger. Another example may have a reduced likelihood of spring damage caused by excess current flow. For example, a plunger may have an eccentrically-tapered back. This eccentrically-tapered back may contact the head portion of the piston. The eccentricity may help to ensure that the plunger tilts at an angle such that the plunger or the piston, or both, contact a barrel of the spring-loaded contact, thereby avoiding current flow and resulting damage to the spring.

    • A method for controlling a dishwasher is disclosed. The control method basically includes a preliminary washing operation for spraying wash water required to hydrate waste adhered to dishes, a main washing operation implemented plural times for washing the dishes contaminated by the waste, a rinsing operation implemented after the preliminary washing operation and also, after the main washing operation for rinsing the dishes from which the waste is removed, and a drying operation for drying the dishes after completion of the washing and rinsing operations. The control method further comprises a steam supply operation implemented at least once before, after, or during the main washing operation for supplying steam to the dishes. With the control method, steam is supplied to a tub in which dishes are received, to enable not only easy removal of food waste adhered to the dishes, but also sterilization of the dishes and tub. The supply of steam is accomplished without requiring an additional steam supply heater, water supply device and nozzle, resulting in easy fabrication and reduced costs.
