摘要： A display device including a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel, a backlight module, and a photo-sensing device is provided. The backlight module is disposed below the LCD panel and is suitable for providing a light source. The photo-sensing device is built in the LCD panel and includes a plurality of photo-sensors having different illumination sensing capabilities. The backlight module modulates the output intensity of the light source according to the sensed result of one of the photo-sensors. Thereby, the display device can precisely modulate the intensity of the back light according to the intensity of ambient light so as to improve the contrast ratio and to reduce the power consumption.

摘要： A driving method applied to a liquid crystal display. First, a first pixel voltage is outputted to a first pixel in a first row of pixels to change a transmittance of the first pixel. Next, a second pixel voltage is outputted to a second pixel in a second row of pixels to change a transmittance of the second pixel. Then, a backlight module is turned on. Next, at a first predetermined time point after the first pixel voltage is outputted, a pixel electrode voltage of the first pixel is adjusted. Finally, at a second predetermined time point after the second pixel voltage is outputted, a pixel electrode voltage of the second pixel is adjusted. The second predetermined time point follows the first predetermined time point.

The signal processing unit is configured to obtain electric potential of the data output line and perform a corresponding processing step. When the touch sensing unit is out of working, the reference point is reset to a predetermined electric potential.

The display panel includes a sensor array for sensing first reflection light generated from an object reflecting first detection light. The first detection light is generated by the backlight source for locating a coordinate of a projection point of the object on the display panel. The first light source is disposed in a first side of the display panel, for repeatedly transmitting second detection light of different transmitting angles to the object at different time to generate a second reflection light. The second reflection light is sensed by the sensor array. The controller is for performing a corresponding operation according to a transmitting angle of the first light source and the coordinate of the projection point when brightness value of the reflective light is substantially greater than a predict value.
