An orientating module minimizes the power requirements of the antenna by directing an orientation of transmission at least substantially toward a receiver. A processor is coupled with the orientating module for controlling the orientation of transmission. Control programming operates the processor to determine the orientation of transmission and activate the orientating module to direct the antenna to transmit in the determined orientation.

A power amplifier module includes at least one current minor and a controller. A capacitor is coupled to the current minor. The controller provides a bias current in an amount proportional to an input to a voltage-to-current converter. The controller receives a control signal that directs the controller to apply one of a pre-charge voltage and a nominal voltage to the voltage-to-current converter.

摘要： According to an exemplary embodiment, a transmitter system includes a power amplifier receiving a supply voltage and a supply current from a power control/current detection circuit, where the power amplifier drives a load impedance. The transmitter system further includes a power correction module configured to sample the supply current and to cause a change in a control voltage, which corrects the supply voltage in response to a change in the load impedance. The supply voltage is corrected to cause the power amplifier to have a substantially constant output power. The power correction module is further configured to output a corrected peak voltage determined by an average value of the supply current. The transmitter system further includes a predistortion module configured to determine the control voltage from a product of the corrected peak voltage and an amplitude modulation component and to output the control voltage to the power control/current detection circuit.

摘要： A method and apparatus for biasing an amplifying device whereby the bias current tracks the input power or the power level of a control signal to thereby efficiently match the bias current with needs of the amplifying device. This method and apparatus overcomes the drawbacks of the prior art by biasing, not for maximum output power, but for the power level of the input signal or the control signal. In one embodiment a current conditioner operates in connection with the self adjusting biasing circuit to scale or adjust, potentially on an exponential basis, the biasing current for one or more amplifier stages. A cancellation current source may be configured within the bias circuit to cancel unneeded current to further minimize current consumption.
