    • A steering wheel comprises a steering wheel core having a ring core piece, a boss disposed downwardly of the center of the ring core piece and spoke core pieces, extending upwardly from the boss in the radial outer directions, for connecting the ring core piece to the boss. Provided at the ends of spoke core pieces extending from the boss are connecting parts, each formed of die casting metal, for connecting the spoke core pieces to ring core piece. A plurality of ribs formed integrally with the connecting parts are protruded from the upper surfaces of the connecting parts on the side of spoke core pieces. A pad, the upper surface of which is made substantially horizontal, is stretched over the boss to vicinal portions to the connecting parts. The surfaces of ring core piece and also of connecting parts including the ribs are covered with coating layers formed of synthetic resin by the injection molding. Each layer is arranged to have a substantially horizontal upper surface so that the upper surfaces of connecting parts are flush with the upper surface of pad.

    • A horn switch mechanism of a steering wheel comprises a stationary contact plate having a locking hole, a movable contact plate having a base portion fixed to the stationary contact plate and contact portions extending upward from the base portion, a depressing plate disposed above the movable contact plate, and a horn pad disposed above the depressing plate. The depressing plate is connected to a lead wire electrically connected to the horn control circuit. An electrical insulation clip-like spacer made of synthetic resin having spring elasticity is disposed between the stationary contact plate and the movable contact plate and fastens the latter on the former. The electrical insulation spacer comprises a base member, a slit provided on the base member, and two rotatable locking legs projecting respectively from both sides of the base member with each locking leg having a hook-like engaging portions on the inner and outer ends thereof. Each locking leg is locked to a peripheral edge of the locking holes of the stationary contact plate by the engaging portion on the outer end and the base portion of the movable contact plate is locked to the base member by the engaging portions on the inner ends of the legs.

    • A steering wheel for an automobile including a impact energy absorber, a retainer, a bottom plate, a mounting portion and a clip disposed on a boss plate of the steering wheel body. The clip is engaged with the front edge of a boss plate, and the mounting portion with a boss plate of the steering wheel body. The clip is made of spring steel and formed in L-like shape, and fixed to the retainer extended from the bottom plate along a front wall of the energy absorber by means of burring caulking. Consequently, labor is not required for the machining of the clips, and the fixing position of the clip to the bottom plate may be taken arbitrarily, and further the mounting stability of the clip is made high.
