摘要： The internal combustion engine includes a reformer, and a heating unit composed of a power source connected to a reforming catalyst composed by carrying a catalyst on a metal foil, a positive electrode, and a negative electrode of the reforming catalyst. The reformer includes the reforming catalyst, and reforms a reforming mixture of reforming fuel and reforming air by the reforming catalyst to generate reformed gas containing hydrogen. This reformed gas is supplied to a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine. Before the reforming mixture is supplied to the reforming catalyst, a temperature of the reforming catalyst is raised to a predetermined preheating temperature higher than an adiabatic reaction temperature in partial oxidation reaction, and then the internal combustion engine is started.

摘要： Disclosed is an intake air volume measuring device for an internal combustion engine. The device includes an air flow meter located in an intake air path of the internal combustion engine, to measure the volume of intake air into the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine based on an output signal of the air flow meter. The output signal of the air flow meter (AFM signal) is sampled in synchronism with the crank angle of the internal combustion engine. With this angle-synchronous processing, the device is capable of obtaining AFM data at equal intervals within a cycle of intake air pulsation, thereby eliminating adverse effects of the intake air pulsation. The device is hence capable of reducing variations in AFM data averages and calculating average flow rates of the intake air with high precision.

摘要： An abnormality detection device for an internal combustion engine is controlled according to properties of employed fuel, and capable of accurately detecting an abnormality in a fuel property sensor, and more particularly, a stuck fuel property sensor. A measurement section of the sensor is housed in a fuel container, which is not disposed in a main flow path of a fuel flow path connecting a fuel pump to an injector, but is disposed apart from the main flow path. Fuel drawn from a fuel tank is introduced into the fuel container. The resulting output value of the sensor is acquired as a first sensor output value. Further, the fuel is discharged from the fuel container. The resulting output value of the sensor is acquired as a second output value. The first and second sensor output values are then used to check for an abnormality in the sensor.

The rationality diagnostic device corrects the output value of the remaining fuel amount sensor in accordance with the output value of the alcohol concentration sensor to eliminate an alcohol-concentration-dependent component from the output value of the remaining fuel amount sensor. The rationality diagnostic device then verifies the accuracy of the corrected output value of the remaining fuel amount sensor to judge whether the rationality of the alcohol concentration sensor is maintained.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide an abnormality detection device that is used with an internal combustion engine having a valve drive mechanism capable of halting the drive of at least one of an intake valve and an exhaust valve, and able to detect the abnormalities of a valve drive halt function. The internal combustion engine includes a knock sensor capable of sensing the seating sound of the intake valve and/or the exhaust valve. An ECU detects whether a control signal given to the valve drive mechanism is a valve drive signal or a valve halt signal. In accordance with the result of detection by the ECU and the presence of the seating sound in an output of the knock sensor, the abnormality detection device judges whether or not the valve drive mechanism is abnormal.
