    • A networked computing system that utilizes a hybrid rate-limiting scheme to jointly affect both PDU payload throughput and total PDU throughput. The networked computing system includes one or more service provider devices (SPDs), one or more subscriber computing devices (SCDs), and a data communications network facilitating data communications between a SPD and a SCD. The SPD can apply the hybrid rate-limiting scheme to data communications provided to the SCD, based on both protocol data unit (PDU) header and payload characteristics. The hybrid rate-limiting scheme can simultaneously facilitate rate-limiting PDU payload throughput and rate-limiting total PDU throughput.

    • A wireless communications system includes a radio resource manager, one or more base stations, and one or more wireless transceivers capable of communicating with the base stations. The wireless transceivers are configured to be able to measure the difference in network parameter (e.g. frequency and timing offset) between base stations within their range. These network parameter differences along with other information are communicated to the radio resource manager which is then able to update or correct the signal or signals of one or more base stations using the information from the wireless transceivers.

    • A system and method are described for dynamic temperature calibration of a frequency reference in a wireless base station. In a consumer grade base station, a reference oscillator may encounter frequency drift as the temperature of the base station changes. This causes interference as the transmission signal is not synchronized with other frequency resources in a network. An improved method of calibrating a reference frequency includes measuring a frequency difference between a frequency derived from an accurate reference frequency in a first base station and a frequency derived from a less accurate frequency reference in a second base station, determining a calibration factor for the offset, and applying the calibration factor to the base station to correct frequency drift. The calibration factors may be correlated with an operating temperature of the base station and stored in a temperature calibration table in the base station device.

    • An arbitration controller provides arbitration on a multipoint, high speed serial bus with a plurality of drivers. Each driver includes a data input pin, an output enable pin, and an output pin. The bus defaults to a first state when the output of the plurality of drivers are set to high impedance. The arbitration controller eliminates any unstable output states on the drivers by controlling the input signals on the drivers. The arbitration controller detects when the bus is in an arbitration mode. When this is detected, the arbitration controller inputs data to the output enable pin and inputs an opposite state of the first state to the data input pin. Further, the arbitration controller detects when the bus is in a data mode. When this is detected, the arbitration controller inputs data to the data input pin and inputs a driver control signal to the output enable pin.
